Well Im finaly gonna get some subs for my car this friday. A customer of mine who has way too much money has 2 JL 12w7's that he had in his Cady EXT for 2 days then decided to put in 4 15's has 2 left and is going to sell them to me for $400 for the pair eek Now I just have to pick my amp (im thinking of the JL 1000/1 I hope these things bump like they say. Anyone ever hear these in a celica before?

Yeah, that's a steal. That'll be a killer set up. I'm running 3 10w6v2's and it's ridiculously loud. I have 2 layers of dynamat extreme and it seems like it's not even there. If youre concerned with rattling, definately consider which way you mount the subs. If you aim them straight back, your bumper is gonna take some serious abuse. With that much bass in the trunk, it's gonna rattle. I actually don't play mine as loud as I used to b/c it rattles, but there's nothing more I can do.

yeah, I know it rattles some so that's why I keep it down. But I still love pulling up next to someone that thinks they have a system, and they look over at me in disgust cause they can't hear theirs anymore rofl

you're gonna need a lot more than one 1000/1 for two of them.

yeah bro...you may need a 1/1000 amp for each of them...those things are insane!!! eek wtf eek I had a buddy with 2 13w7's in the back of a dakota ext cab, and he had to dynamat everything from the floorpan, to the headliner, to the doors, and even had to go thru tons of that sprayable sound deadener in the holes between the back of the cab and the sheetmetal to get the thing to stop the rattle...but he had it setup for sound competition too..with a D class 2000 watt amp going to each of them..even lexaned the back window...they are def. the king of the hill for subs, and $400 is worse than robbery (GOOD DEAL thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup) just be careful what you wish for rice

There are somethings that dynamat isnt gonna fix, in your case, the w7s are gonne make every loose piece rattle. It's going to take a lot of work to quiet your car. Also, one 1000/1 is plenty for 2 w7's, just build a good enclosure and it wont matter how much power you have. Plus you could always upgrade...

man, that is a sweet deal..

Psquared - did you face your subs a diff direction to keep rattle down?? I have 2 w3v2 and from the way it sounds, no amount of dynamat will stop the rattle.

After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true.

Exactly, There is nooo way one will power them. At the local JL dealer, they had one 12W7 and had one 1000/1 and 500/1 just for one in an integra hatch. You are seriously going to underpower the subs.
