im gonna give this one more try before i try to go to the dealer ship and more then likely get the run around for having aftermarket parts... but
i switched my stock alloys to my 17 inch enkei rs6's and now when i go over 65 the steering wheel shakes rapidly left and right then will be fine for a moment then gradually start shaking again, has anyone had this problem before and if so how did you solve it... i had an alignment about 5 mo. ago and the manager at tires plus said that wouldnt be the problem, i also just got them balanced, i have hub centrix rings which was suggested before...thanks in advance

it could be lots of things... try putting on your old wheels and see if it still shakes...

if it does, it could be your SAI or many other things.

edit... also, you could just have shitty tires.

what was the purpose of the rings? I didnt think they were required for 17's.

Have you tried balancing your wheels with a road force balancer? This machine is expensive and very few shops have it. My city has almost one million residents, and only two shops in the city have this. It balances the wheel by placing the load on different areas along the tire and looks for heavy spots. It has taken teh vibration out of a lot of celicas in our club.

It sounds more like a wheel bearing or inncorrectly tightened lugnuts. Most shops I know don't even check that stuff they just set your toe move on. anyway good luck man I hate little anoyances like this!
