Ok, I want to get this dvd player for my brother. I saw one on ebay but it's refurbished. Do you guys think I should buy it? I only have $1000 to spend.

he doesnt have that much to drop. he wants to get one for around 1000.

i used to have a vrx925vd, it was a nice screen. i didn't like how when it goes track to track in mp3 mode, that there is a 2 sec pause. reads cd-txt and it is layed out on the screen real nice.

i just picked up the Eclipse AV833 [eclipse-web.com] ( 2,650+tax).

but the clarion is still a nice screen.

personally i wouldn't get refurbished item. but that's just how i see thing. Keep searching you might be able to find a good one. check out www.discountave.net [discountave.net] they have good prices but i would check with them if the item you want to buy have warranty, they offer 30days but nothing else.. so check it out. Good luck

many refurbished electronics still carry an extended manufacturers warranty.

i'd save a few $$ and go for it...

i've never really read about refurbished dvd players, but refurbished pc's are awesome. thumbsup

I'm gonna wait 2 weeks to see if I find a clarion for a good price and if I don't find one I'll probably have 1500 by that time. Which one do you guys recommend I should get(Alpine,Kenwood,Pioneer, etc)? Thanks guys
