So...It's getting to be about that time to pick up some rims but I need some help.

I want them to be 18s, 6-spoke or more and preferably gunmetal.

I don't really know anything about offset,
(225/40/18) <-- those kinda numbers (well I know what the 18 stands for)

If anyone has any suggestions or help that'd be awesome.

Do it for Krystal...I gotta roll on 18s thumbsup

225 is how WIDE the tire is. Stock is 195 or 205, depending on which rims/tires you have from the dealer.

The wider the tire, the more traction.

40 is how "tall" the tire is. 40 is probably good, because it's low profile (which looks good), but the ride should still be ok. If you get 35 or lower, you're gonna have a ROUGH ride and risk popping your tire on potholes.

Get 45 if you want a smooth ride.

And you already know what 18 is for grin

I checked out WheelsNext.com but I know it's going to be cheaper to buy some over the net than a speedshop here. they're all going to be shipped from the US anyways. Any other goods sites that will ship to Canada?

Stephen, if you like the ADR, talk to Harry at bigwheelz.com, they are located in Calgary so you will save on duty, shipping and brockerage fees. He is an official ADR distributor and a good guy to deal with.

Not too expensive? wtf

$1400 for some 17" rims WITHOUT tires or shipping is insane, if you ask me.

I got my rims for like $500 SHIPPED.

I you are looking at this rim cause of the lip chances are its not gonna be that big. Depending on the offset a lip that big would be on a rim 9in +. If your looking to put a 225/40 on, the rim is gonna be around 7-7.5 to fit properly and a lip on that size rim is going to be about 1-1.5 at the most. Just my .02

Yeah, I wasn't expecting the lip to be very big and I was planning on doing 215/35.

Please dont, I had a 215/35 on my old rims and the ride was awful!. The smaller in width (215) causes the side wall to be smaller(35), its like riding on the rim. 215/35 side wall is smaller than a 225/35 side wall and so on.

Yes, I realize that it's a thin, low profile tire. I was going for that because I don't really like the look of a thick tire and I wanted to drop about 2".

By the way, were you selling your car because I seen pix of it on Ebay. Or was someone just using your pix? confused

Stephen, my wheels are no longer made, they stopped making them a while back. They came in silver or hyper silver, but I've never seen them on another car, so they're kind of hard to find frown

Are you looking for a wheel/tire package or are you just looking for wheels?

And how much do you wanna spend?
