i emailed my dealer yesterday because i was curious to see what a TRD kit would cost...Isaac said the best way to go with a kit was through the dealer. These are the prices he sent me today...

Front Bumper $878.35
Side Skirts $364.18
Rear Bumper $970.26
Spoiler $253.87

he said this did not include shipping, painting or installation...ARE THESE PRICES FOR REAL??? what would be the difference between that and the $475 TRD kit in the ecelica store???

Those prices are correct. You may want to double check the wing. It should be more than what you listed.

The TRD style kit is a replica of the TRD. They are made of fiberglass. The OEM parts are polyurethane.

I would suggest getting the front bumper from toyota and pick up the sides and rear from Wings west. The wing you can pick one up from Beto. Http://www.thelostrican.com.

not to bash on trd kits (i don't even have a kit myself yet) but i've noticed way too many trd kits (or action packages, as described by toyo dealers) up here in norcal. it's the norm and is similar to seeing hundreds of civics lowered with exhausts (e.g. "civic nation" puke ). i think other style body kits are nice to see (apr's overly expensive gt300 widebody)and even mix and match types can be better. kinda shows more of a personal touch to one's car. but, that's my opinion.

The TRD kit is a nice kit but...
...I would not get it because Toyota sells it on the car so they took all of the guess work out of getting a kit. Now every other celica has one! Its almost stock, in fact I feel its getting to the point of stock being more original that the TRD kit. wave

yes, gen7fan. i have even seen many drivers with the trd (action) package who have no clue to the fanbase of the car. it's becoming a kit you don't notice much and why pay so much for something that will blend in?

im guessing you guys are from the Cali area and out there maybe the action package celica's blend in but out here in the Mass/NH area they are pretty rare on the roads. i'm not trying to disagree with your point and i can see how some people that don't understand the fanbase of the kit take it for granted but in this area a action package celica will turn many heads

Joey sure knows how to make his TRD kit stand out. I've seen tons of TRD Celicas before and this one still has me in awe. grin

if you are to get a TRD kit good luck with the front bumper. toyota desided it would be cool and put some holes for a license plate with some mounts(looks tacky in my opinion) i recommend the kit, but maybe go with a diff front. also if you are wondering i purchased a small black 2.5 x 12(?) plastic plate thing that says "TRD" on it in red. got it on EBAY looks a lot better up front now.
