I know this is weird but I never even thought of this till today. I was coming out of work into the parking lot just now and I hear this alarm going off. I didn't think anything about it until I got to my car.. the sound seemed to be coming from my ride.. I looked around to make sure I wasn't going insane but I swear it sounded like my car going off. And as soon as I slid my key in the lock...it went off! Again for as long as I've owned my car nothing like this has happened. So was it just some bizarre coincidence or does my car have an alarm that I need to get a remote for? Oh.. it kept saying "I have been tampered with" then it would make the alarm sound then repeat. [if that helps anything] confused confused confused

new/used?

New, it could have a VIP system, but that would have come with a remote.

Used, aftermarket maybe confused

Well its complicated.. I bought it "used" from a dealership..[car was scratched in transit and was fully repainted but could not be sold as new] but it never had an owner. I can't remember fore sure but I think it was supposed to come with keyless entry.. but the people I bought it from said there was no remote.

Well, keyless entry will have a "security" thing on the left side of the steering wheel area.

It's black, with a red light/speaker on it. spineyes

Was the noise your horn honking and along with the lights flashing? If so, you have the VIP system.

If it was a loud ear piercing BEEEEEEEEEEP that never had any breaks in the sound, then a door was left ajar while the security system was armed, and you just didn't know about it. Most likely wasn't it, but I don't understand how someone could have a noise coming from their car and not know if it was the alarm or not.

If he has the VIP alarm, then it won't go on by doing that.

You have to tap on the glass, or force a door open.

Yeah I guess it wasn't...I went back looked for any tell tale signs of a system.. no blinking light or anything of the sort.. Locked my doors.. tapped the glass.. pulled on the door handle.. humped the car.. No go. I guess it was just a funny twist of fate...
