Hey watsup,
First I wanna say my bad for posting so many Q's lately...

I want to lower my car, because I'm getting 17's and I dont want it to look weird.(SO I guess maybe 1.5, max 2...)
My car has 50K on it. I want to keep my ride smooth, not bumpy.
DOes that mean I need to change my springs, shocks, struts, and get an alignment kit?
(Please say no... WAY 2 much $$!)

with 50k on it, I'd say you need new springs and struts - also, an alignment is a necessary evil whenever you drop a car

well put, just get coilovers and an alignment that will take car of it all, the rule of thumb around here is a camber kit is needed with a 2 inch drop or more

so i need springs... coilovers and alignment kit...?

yes, if you are going that route. you don't have to get coilovers though unless you really want the adjustability which they provide...

since you seem like you don't want to spend that much money, go with the tokico spring/strut set. It'll drop the car about 1.5" and it comes with struts designed for that kind of drop. You can pick it up for about $450+.

Check out the Tokico Shock/strut/spring package $299 that is the best price I've ever seen

the shock/strut/spring package is 429.00, the one you saw doesn't come with the springs

if you were right, i would have been totally pissed since i just bought the shock/spring package

or spend a little more and get the TRD struts/springs - modest drop with those though...

hold up! i thought that w/ the trd springs you don't need new struts as they don't put that much stress on the struts. r you saying that he should get the trd springs/struts combo just due to the fact that he has over 50K miles on it? Meaning i have 30K miles and if i were to get the trd springs, i can still keep my stock strut? because i was under the impression that the trd springs were highly compatible with stock struts!

^^^ya i have the same question cause i have 40000 miles on my car and i want tein s springs (1.4" drop)

If you plan on keeping your car for a couple of solid years plan on at least a true coilover. Even if it's a cheaper entry level for aroung $1000 dollars. These can usually be overhauled for aound $75 a damper and save money in the long run. Springs don't usually sag that much. Beats buying new struts every 30,000 miles. Springs are already matched, spring rates can be changed before if asked, and quality can't be beat. No guessing which combination works best or gives a lower drop because with most coilovers the drop is at least 2" or more and springs matched. I have Tein HA, just for example, and just cranked the damping up to 13 in front and 12 in back. My God is it stiff and rock solid. No bounce what so ever. People even flick me the high beams when I hit a dip or bump because they think I am. Hit a bump settles instantly. Around a turn 40+ over speed limit no problem. Save up and invest in something better. You won't be disapointed.

you don't need new struts w/the TRD springs, but why ride around w/the stock struts when you can upgrade & get better handling w/the TRD struts. if you wanna be cheap and not get the TRD struts, your stock struts will be fine. they'll wear out normaly.

...TRD springs will work well with stock struts, but after 50-60K+ miles, one has to replace the struts and what better than TRD to match the drop...
