We all know that the celica cant handle 300hp+ on its tranny, it starts to have problems, so here's my question. I am in the process of getting the 2.0 bore kit, with 8.8:1 compression, sf Turbo, and all new internals, new fuel injectors, fuel cables, fuel regulator, fuel pump, 50 shot of n2o, misc...With all this, i will most likely be in the range of 300-400 hp, knowing that on a raceday i will jump from the daily driving 4-6 psi, to 16-18psi...so, my question is, rather then getting a new Turbo, cant i just get the gears that c-one sells on there website, or do i need a new tranny, and if i do need a new tranny, which tranny will fit on almost perfectly, or with the least amount of modification??

if it's an automatic, check with lentec transmissions or level ten transmissions.

you're gonna need a serious flywheel ( I recommend monkey wrench racing's chromemoly version), as well as a serious clutch, such as ACT's 6-puck race clutch...PM C2gas...he's already done what you are about to do , and will know what to say...

you say you are getting internals, get them ceramic coated, valves and pistons,if you can get the chamber do it as well, but it would have to be factored into you final compression.and of course, you would have to be running good fuel when you are running your 16psi plus boost and 50 shot nitrous!(gradually dude, gradually) thats a lot of boost with 50 shot nitrous esp bored.
the tranny, get a 1994 up mr2 Turbo tranny, the jdm ones came with lsd. the tranny from the later years v6 camrys can work as well. i'm going to be honest with you,i have never checked to see if they can bolt directly to the 2zz.but i know they can handle the power. if someone who reads this has a gts tranny out sitting right now and can do a template and send it to me i can check because i have an mr2 tranny sitting right now(but dont have a gts tranny to compare) where it bolts up and the input shaft and spline needs to be checked.
for the record, the act 4 puck is nastier than the 6 puck, depends on the tranny you get would determin which clutch you would buy.(something will give under preasure, and if you hook hard, and the clutch dont slip a little, that preasure goes to the diff or the shafts)

Alright, fine, i am thinking about getting a new tranny, and thanks for all the tips, so whats better, a 6 puck or a 4 puck, and still one of my question arises, would the c-one racing gears for the tranny, be worth it and just as good!!

I dont know of any transaxles that will bolt up to the 2zz. good luck finding one.

finding a tranny to bolt up isnt really a problem, that is, the "bolting up part" a plate can be made at any competent machine shop that allow you to get the tranny bolt up . its the input shaft thats the problem.esp if its too long or short.the splines are not that bad, cause you can call act and tell them you want a disc, this diameter, but with the spline for this input shaft(count them,or mark the spline shape out on a piece of paper and fax it to them)
example:i had a 3sgte mated to a chevy 350 tranny, with a plate, the only thing we had to move on the engine was a metal waterline.
try to get a lower final gear, and the 4 puck has more presure on the fly for the same preasure plate.i think the x plate and the 6 puck will be good for you.the 4 puck and x plate is ridiculous in traffic!
