I was just wondering since the new MR2's have the VVT-i engine couldn't GT owners use some of the aftermarket support to fix up GT's? Or could you fit a gts engine into a MR2 and have lift in the MR2?

Yes you can swap a 2zz engine into the MR2 spyder, im not sure about using aftermarket stuff...im sure you can, at least you could with the stuff that will fit. I believe theres more room in the mr2's engine bay (trunk) than in the Celicas engine bay. Thats why Veilside has a Turbo kit out for the MR2 Spyder, but not for the same engine powered celica GT.

I don't follow the MR2 Spyder at all. Today, while I was checking on differentials and things for Celicas I ran across someone who has a bad ass MR2 with the swap. It's possible with plenty of room more than our engine bays I believe. Check websites dedicated to the MR2 Spyder and find out. I personally would Turbo the hell out of the existing motor rather than a swap.
