I have an "01. In the last year I have noticed a gradual peeling of the clear coat in ares of the car where-ever there is a sharp edge. (near the moldings, around the rearview mirror housing, etc.) It seems like the clearcoat is too hard or somethng. By the way, I am absolutely ANAL about keeping my car clean, and waxed, and detailed. This drives me crazy. I don't think Toyota will cover it since I have 68k on it, but I haven't tried. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah, I have a super white 00 gts, and I've noticed chipping of the clear coat on the edge of the door. Not too bad, but it does suck.

Q: How do you double the value of a Ford?
A: You put gas in it.

Same here and with a friend of mines Celica who has 40,000 miles less than me. I hate it too. I don't know about the clear coat peeling, but the chips seem to be more of a common problem.
