Alright, there is the port and polish. But what about widening (boring) the throttle body? You think that would do anything. Then fuel, not just a stand alone or piggyback. But what about injectors. I've seen injectors for the celica, but what cc is good? How do you know? Cams are supposed to be coming out this summer. I can't save for turbo. Its too much money. I would have to take out a loan. So I think I will go N/A if it seems worth it.
Throw out some other ideas. I am going to go to a performance speed shop in the next few days and brainstorm with them. I will share my results with what we come up with. But throw out some other ideas that I can bring to the table.

actually, on your first post, you said it all, but i was thinkin about the spark plug wires, or MSD ignition but not really sure if this will work on a celica

But we don't have spark plug wires do we? We have individual coils above each plug. Correct if I'm wrong though.

Dan, be careful. There was a woman on here that went by the name Renee. She bored out her throttle body but ended up having major problems with it. Unfortunately, I can't find that specific post on there. Other posts of hers are on here though, just search for throttle body. Another problem that was posed, but not heard about, was it affecting lift. It sounds not so good to me.

I'm looking into the engine mount. Merlin, do you think that she got it done at a bad place. Like they did a poor job. I drive a GT, so I do not have to worry about lift. Steven, don't be scared to post your times. It was your first time. YOu should have seen my first run. I pulled a Paul Walker, I drove past the start line and had to reverse. I have to admit, I was the crowd favorite that night lol But my very first run ever was a 16.4. I've even ran a 16.6 before. But my best is 15.81. I might go this weekend and I'm not leaving til I get at least a 15.7 maybe a 15.6 after my exhaust mod.

Dan, I don't know whether someone did a bad job on it or not. She posted on here a whopping total of 16 times. She always asked questions but never posted any of the results. Anyway, maybe if you made sure you did everything right it would work out? Bigger injectors, S-AFC for the a/f ratio problem, the whole nine yards.
Right now, I'm with you guys on the turbo. Way too expensive for me. Hopefully we'll all be able to think of ways to boost HP. [ 05-19-2003, 09:05 PM: Message edited by: XxMerlinxX ]

Hopefully this shop will have some answers for me. What does the cc mean for injectors? (550cc, 600cc). What should be used? Or do you guys not know. If you don't know just say you don't know, don't just say what you've heard and whatnot unless its a reliable source.

Steven, do you think those wires actually do anything? He said like 3-4hp/tq, but he has no proof of this. How and why would these wires work? What do they do?

it allows your electrical components to ground better.
I have the engine torque brace and the wire grounding kit.
all together it was only 37 for the wires and 56 for the brace...
not much to gamble with...

Did you notice anything with the wires, or is it one of those "everything adds up" mods?

Hey FXMAN, hook me up with one of those gigs. We'll get the turbo together in a group buy with hopefully some sort of discount. We'd be big ballin.

no, but some of the work is redundant, or obsolete.. like a header, goes in the trash because a turbo charger is ON the manifold, an intake goes in the trash, the gains from pulleys don't matter, the gains from a port pollish don't matter. Reprogramming your ECU won't matter, because Turbo kits have their own fuel management system that either ignores, reprograms, or piggybacks the ECU, injectors won't matter, because 2 of the 3 kits out there come with new injectors, and the 3rd one requires stock injectors.. the list goes on.. Other small mods will be worthless once you have Turbo, and most NA mods after exhaust and intake, and you are risking problems (like removing the harmonic dampener will pulleys, needing to rev higher with a flywheel, risking a loss with an unballanced port and pollish, risking a loss with a header, killing your sound system with underdrive or accesory pulleys). A difference of 5whp is noticable when you are putting 125whp to the road, but when you are up around 200whp, 5 really isn't that important.. that's why I am not touching my car until after a turbo goes in there.
