I'm still not sold on what kind of can to get, most of you know I've been looking at AC Autotecnic but I'm not 100% sure.
So please post suggestions on what kind of exhaust (custom, not cat back) you think would be better, or if you agree AC is a good choice.
I'm looking for power, sound, and legal. Also please try to leave out the age old TRD/TSRM posts. I know people like them but thats not what I'm looking to do.

What about the Greddy Evo II? It's real quiet and gives about 5.7 whp, Speed4theneed posted the dynos a few days ago, and that was on a STOCK celica with only exhaust. NO hassle from the pigs is ALWAYS a plus!

NO hassle from the pigs is ALWAYS a plus! Got a link of who sells Greddy universal mufflers? I thought they only made cat backs, not what I'm looking for. I'm in at a great shop, all they want from me is a can I like, they do the rest. I and I trust them 200% to do it right.

why do you dislike the trd?
Ask yourself one question. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

why do you dislike the trd? A Few reasons, I have heard reports of the muffler getting holes in it from the welds bursting. I hear they rust easy, northeast problem mainly (snow and ice = salt = rust on cheap metal). Also IMO the price is not worth the gain, 5 to 6 hp is not worth $400 -$600. You can get the same hp gains from a quality universal can with quality custom pipe. Also even if my exhaust falls short by a few hp I still would only have around $200 into it. Far better power to money ratio!

bomz care to add some detail? I have looked at Bomz, people seem to like there exhaust but I don't trust them. My brother had one of there Intakes, it was very cheaply made. I have never seen or heard a celica with one. Also when you compare pics alone the AC looks far better. One of the celicas at the last meet I went to had a AC and it looked and sounded great, thats why I lean tword it. Plus AC costs about the same as Bomz. But please feel free to tell me other wise, thats what this thread is here for.

i like the 5-zigen because of the sound. it's nice and deep but its not too loud. My buddy has one. I heard apex is good too. I think they just released a new muffler with a fan in it to keep the noise levels down during daily driving. Im not sure if its just the muffler or if it's the whole system.

eh...get a real exhaust, not custom. YOu get more gains from a custom ...running a str8 pipe not really..most axle back systems out there for our cars have had quality research and development time put into finding the best combination of HP, torque, and most importantly, a good power curve. with a custom system..a straigher pipe will give you more top end HP, but you will loose A LOT of down low power. i think people still fail to realize that peak horsepower gains aren't nearly as important as attaining a smooth power curve..as a good power curve is really where you'll see an increase in acceleration

oops..and might I add that if you're going for a custom system thats straight as possible, most likely its going to be illegally loud without a silencer.
