well after debating for a long long time and tring to design a cowl in my spare time I decided to go w/ the TRD S/C insted of a Turbo. I really love the gains of a Turbo but in the long run w/ the strict mant. and the on going upkeep and not to mention the 1500 in other goodies that are req. to run a safe system I decided to buy the factory warr. of the TRD S/C. all in all this project is gonna cost around 2900, I picked up the S/C from Rinke toyota for only 2300 and the install is gonna cost about 400 and the time I spent in making and materials for the cowl was arond 200 W/ paint. I know the #'s for the S/c are not the highest BUT w/ the daily mileage and being that I still have 15k left on warr. it was the way to go for me. I'm gonna post pix asap the car is sch. to go in on the 5th of may and I have some up right after its done. Also I have an app. w/ godspeed inc. to have dynos done on the 8th.

sure Turbo has much better gains, but the trd sc is definitely reliable, if i had to go with anything, i would choose the trd sc as well, but i know trial is coming out with a sc for 1zzfe as well.

After posting pics of your hood, would you consider making one for me as well? Sure, its basiclly pretty simple, it takes about a day or so to let everythn cure properly. I was really suprised at how time consuming is wasnt. my dad tried to talk me outa it and have his friend a Fiberglass repairer do it, he wanted about 350 or so but for sure im willin to make some more of these, I had a feeling I ppl might be interested. gimme about 2 weeks or so cause it still might have to be tweeked being i have cut the hole yet and the s/c isnt installed till 5/5

There real friendly!! I talked to several dealers and they were the best prices. Some of em' quoted me 10hrs for labor And some told me that they wouldnt do it. My partners brother, Ed Rinke owns the dealership and they have one of the best service centers in the state.

I would have gone with the SC too, it just seems better overall.. although the gains aren't as large as a Turbo, it still has a lot of benefits that I personally think are way better. Very cool though man, definitely get some pics up! SC costs so much here, it's like $7000 Cnd. to buy and then possibly a few more grande to install.
