Hey i was just thinking if you guys think it's worth it to invest in CAI, headers, lighter crank pully, lighter flywheel, racing clutch, short shifter.. you think all that would really make the celica THAT much faster, or just by a little bit. Im sure it would be noticable to the driver, but im talkn about on the street

if speed is really important to you, i would buy a first gen talon tsi for a few grand and put a bigger Turbo on it. gatta love anythign awd and Turboed.
is all that stuff you buying for a gt or a gts? if its for a gt it will still lose to a gts. and with the gts stock at 180 hp its hard to get any huge gains from it with mods. save up your money and buy a power fc for it. with a good driver and a few mods if any you coudl be in the 13's

Definately worth it, if you want the looks of the celica, and a beefier engine

he only has a GT, there's no point. You know, most of the time I agree with what you have to say... but in this case, I'm going to have to dissagree. I have a GT with a CAI, custom exhuast, fidanza flywheel, and port and polish. I intend to put a Turbo on it as soon as I can. Until then though, the mods that I have make the car a whole lot more fun to drive than it was stock (which was still pretty damn fun). To vouch for how uch faster it made my car... the last time I raced a gts (stock, but still a 6spd gts) I beat it by about 3/4 of a car length (granted the driver was kinda retarded too, but he didn't miss any gears ). So, yes... it made my car a good deal faster. I guess my point is that any car is worth modding the engine if that's what you want to do.

Take how much money you spend on your GT and if someone spent the same ammount on their GTS you would still get whooped on.. when the day is said and done you still drive home with no lift.

There is a lot of stupid things being said in this thread!?! The GTS is a completely different car, despite the obvious, so its like telling someone not to mod any other car! What does it matter if its a GT? It has its strengths, and weaknesses as the GTS does. Both trims were made to apply to seperate tastes. No one person's taste is the best. Lift is a damn awesome addition, but you know what? Its NOT the only thing!

And buck for buck a GTS is gonna be faster, I'll back that up against any 1zz celica. Speed is important to me, if it wasn't I wouldn't be driving a a GTS.. if I could afford something like a corvette or supra(or just kept mine) then I would be driving one.

Hey buddy I pay for my celica. Ive been working since 14. Dont think im spoiled or anything. I plan on putting a K&N air filter on and possible ground wires. That will be it for my Performance mods. As long as my car has some kick in it.

i think we all gave our opinionss about the subject and it's up to SanjiX to decide whether it's worth it or not. personally i fail to see the argument.

If its what you got, do what you want with it. That's what puts the variety in this hobby/scene. If I were to go to a show and see nothing but GTS, while it would be badass , it would all pretty much be the same. I think it nice to see what people can do with just a little bit, and see how much they can turn it in to. That's what its all about for me, the effort, and pride of/for what is yours.

Now go buy a GTS, I paid(ing) 21790, and I baught it with 10,300 miles on it, you can find the same thing nowdays for half that much.. Take the money that you want to put in your GT and save it, sell your GT and take the money from both and buy a GTS or use that money for a nice down payment.

Death, you're welcome to come put your GTS up against my (soon to be) Turbo GT, and we'll see what you say when it's over. By the way, i bought my car for $18k cash.. brand new... so, I could have put the SF Turbo on my car as soon as I bought it, paid just about as much as you did for your GTS with 10k miles on it, and smoked you any day of the week.

Isnt this supposed to be a celica community? Not a 'GT's suck, GTS' rock?'

Lets see your numbers, a Turbocharged celica used for daily driving is still gonna put around the same power to the wheels as modified GTS.

Don't worry, after I get my kit and get it installed (should be within the next couple of months), I'll post some dyno results. Being that i already have some work done to the car (port and polish) I think it's gonna like the Turbo a lot! I'll also see if I can find a track that I can get a couple of good 1/4 mile passes on.

2000 + Celica GT
Stafford Fabrication Turbo Kit
Stafford Fabrication brings you the highest quality parts available for the 2000+ Celica GT.
Designed for both stock and modified engines. The Turbo kit can provide you with a mild 4 psi for daily driving on your stock motor, or provide you with an insane 18 psi for highly modified race cars.
The Turbo kit has been dyno tested to 217 whp on 6 psi and 233 whp on 8 psi.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That came off Stafford Fabrications website. It's a little bit more than modifed gts's.
Hell... wasn't it Illusive that just dynoed his nicely tuned gts at 181 whp or something like that? (by the way, great work illusive! Mad props!)

this is still going on? SanjiX apparently you want to mod your GT. The general consensus is that there is nothing wrong with that and to do your own thing.personally if you like modding then do it. if you love your car then do it. don't listen to people who say it's not worth it because your got the "lower" trim celica...i think that's not right. we all ahave to start somewhere. the admins of this site have GT model celicas...so does that mean their Intake and exhausts were a waste of money just because it's a GT? no. is a GTS faster stock for stock. yes. is a GTS faster mod for mod. yes. but who cares, that's not what you're asking. you're asking if your GT is worth modding and i am saying that depends on you. if i posed my question on a 350Z forum on how to mod my "ultra fast GTS"..(lol ) i would be approchhed the same way that death approched you. "why bother 4 banger" would be the response...do i care? no.stock for stock and mod for mod a 350Z will whip me...but that shouldn't matter because modding is about you and not about other people. do your thing SanjiX, and good luck from an ex-GT owner

I'm one of the faster N/A GTS's around and even I would get beat by staffords Turbo GT. =================================================== yes, illusive put down 181 and I put down 183.8 on my street map.
