Tell him to prove it to you and go to the track together and ask him for his slips from those allegid 14's stock runs. Then when he can't provide the goods, laugh the fuck at him and make him feel like a moron.
I doubt he is going to get his GT to 200hp either.. in the magazine Boost there is a SC GT and it has $25 000 USD(including SC) put into the car and it only ran the quarter mile 14.9... 'nuff said.

I don't understand the infatuation with quarter mile times of any Celica. Celicas were designed to appeal to a younger market and get rid of that old-fart-drives-a-toyota image. There was a concious effort by Toyota to make a car that was sporty and fun to drive, not be a speed demon, hence its excellent handling characteristics. While a Celica IS pretty quick compared to most rides, if you want to drag race and you bought a Celica, you bought the wrong car. My .02

yes...but thats from the same people that said that the stock GTS 6speed ran the 1/4 mile in 15.7, and dont forget the fact that that celica had a HEAVY ASS widebody kit that weighd more than i can imagine, and it had 19's which would slow it down ALOT

your friend + 3/4 helping of brain = person with a full brain. Tell him in order to run a 14.8 with a stock GT in the 1/4 he'd need to: add AT LEAST 8 more stickers not including a gigantic NAAAAWWWWSSS sticker for his hatch, replace stock muffler with coffee can, and eat at least 8 bowls of rice.

it had 17's for the track runs, but still an understated time.
