Ok so HID is illegal right? Im not too worried about installing them and getting a ticket but I was just wondering if there were an near equal alternatives. Ive heard of the Catz zeta system but i heard the bulb life is significantly lessened. ALso...if I were to get HID who's the best...where to buy...how many K?
THanks ya'll

philips is prolly the better kit out there, McCulloch kit has the return wires on the opposite side of the bulb and it creats a railroad track effect with the lights(can be fixed) i would buy philips bulbs and the ballast 4300k is the brightest output for the bulbs 6k will be bluer but not as bright and 7k is purpleish kinda like the 2sk's have. this however may attract unwanted attention

I've done PLENTY of reasearch on HID's and if you read this post it sums things up real nicely. like about the purple color...and what color temp is the best... Anyone who doesn't knows a bit or nothing about HID's READ Tony's reply HID's... https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_252822_0_collapsed_5__1.html

REMEMBER[b] contrary to what people thing only 4100K & 4300K color temps will give you the best light output anything over especially anything over 6000k and light output is worse than stock but you have purple and purple on the ground style but expensive style
HID's are only [b]LEGAL if they come stock.. company's like kats and www.hids4less.com [ hids4less.com] (now gone) are illegal and are being shut down. Probably why Isaac doesn't carry HID's in the ecelica store anymore..

Aftermarket HIDs are illegal. If your car didn't roll off the lot with them, they are illegal. HOWEVER... Celica's do have HID as an option. My basic theory is that no cop will ever check to see if your HIDs are factory or the (illegal) aftermarket kind. If you put them on a '95 Civic it's fairly obvious that they aren't stock... that's not so with our cars. So I say go ahead and do it, there is probably only a .001% chance you'll ever get pulled over if they are installed correctly. That being said, the MTECH lights on this site are insane. I parked next to my mom's car (which has HID) last night, and I can' tell the difference between my car and hers. They are 1/20th the cost of HID, and are very awesome

yah go MTECH's... got some in the ecelica store and if you do HID don't expect to get the purply look unless you go up in the higher k sacrificing Performance.. or do what I'm doing putting in some hid projectors =) or get some factory hid projectors and your set Difference of Stock vs HID Celica headlamp pictures https://celicahobby.com/ubbthrea...&PHPSESSID=
