I agree... for mine I used a sheet of plastic I found laying around at home and tied it to the inside of the wheel well with zip ties to keep dirt and water out
yeah it looks really cool through there but I closed mine off with black plastic and silicone. Doesn't look cool anymore but the filter was filthy all the time... plus i drive in the winter too and shit would just shoot straight off the tire through those holes...
yeah i know wen i paint the calipers im going to fix it but im going to do it in a way were you can still see the filter ill show ya ones i get done with it
How long have you had your CAI on? How times have you driven in the rain? Have you hit any puddles? Im trying to get a feel for just how durable these CAI filters are and how well they hold up to the elements.
I just installed my Injen CAI two weeks ago and oddly enough it has not rained since then, so I am wondering what to expect when it dose.
Numerous threads have been written about the hydro-locking boogie man, the common opinion seems to be that you pretty much have to submerge the filter in water for it to occur, but you still here the odd tale of woe about some guy driving through a big puddle and getting water in his engine.
Living in Seattle I'm guessing it has seen it's share of rain.
Did you cover your wheel well holes as well?
the injen watershield is ausome. i used to have to clean or replace my filter alot, but ive kept this one for a long time now and its still clean. ive had it on for about 4-5 months. i dont cover the holes in the wheel well
