^^ i planed on doing that..but i read that the hyper medallion is 50 state legal.. quote from mvpmotorsports.com --This is the newest exhaust from Tanabe. It is also one of the quietest exhaust you can put on your Celica & we highly recommend it. The entire exhaust is stainless steel from one end to the other. The piping is 60mm & the tip is 100mm--

The TSRM is 50 state legal but it is still loud. There are many exhaust that are quieter. Tanabe and TRD have pretty much the same gains with only .2 hp between them. Its really up to which one you like better for looks and sound. But with TRD you will get less of a hassle with toyota.

WAIT I OVER LOOKED THIS THE FIRST TIME! You dont want to get the hyper medallion for 340 you want the racing medallion! It cost about the same as TRD.

TRD > All.

TRD has the best gains and has a nice proper sound and it's legal in terms of sound, but I've heard of a couple people being pulled over for it, probably just cops picking on the cars in particular or maybe those cars were too low or who knows..

TSRM is fully legal too and only has .2 hp less than TRD. If you are that concerned about .2 hp just take out the drivers side floormat and you are even.

yeah TRD will be the quieter one, but its also more expensive. If ur concerned about sound, then go with teh trd its like 100 more than the tsrm.

Tanabe Hyper-Spec Super Medallion Exhaust System
The Tanabe Hyper Medallion has an unique exhaust note that is higher pitched than most. On high revving engines, the sound will still stay at moderate levels. You will notice high power gains of 8-20 horsepower. The canister has the same construction as the G Power, but the tip is a single layer 4" tip, which makes this Tanabe's most affordable exhaust. Some Systems noted with Hyper DUAL have one muffler on each side.

Note: The Hyper is designed for use in all 50 states and meets CA noise requirements. Every Tanabe Hyper Medallion comes with complete mounting hardware and muffler polish. Tanabe exhaust feature a one year warranty. Some applications require modification.

The Hyper has the same design as the Racing. The only difference is the canister & they both give about the same HP gain. The Hyper gives a couple of tenths of HP less 'cuz of the design of the canister. If you don't want something loud, then the Hyper exhaust is a great choice at $340.

As for the dealer giving you a hard time, it all depends on your dealer. I have a ton of aftermarket parts on my car & they have never said anything.
