Im getting my piping done
tomm. after school what width
should i get my piping?
I was thinking of 2.25 or maybe
2.5? What do you guys think?

i have heard 2.25 used but i dont really know, but what kind of muffler are you using? And when you get it done, lemme know how much it cost and how much of a difference you feel? I might do this

will this add more horsepower then say a Tanabe or a TRD exhaust??

yea since its a str8 pipe
you have no resinator= more air
flow plus not cat= even more
air flow.. but i might leave the
cat in

ask grand-touring dan- i think he had 2.5" before, dynoed it, had lost power, went to 2.25" and had better results. not sure though, this was quite some time ago, but im pretty sure he has 2.25" now

custom piping would be better than a bought one you r saying??

ok i've had quite a few experience on this subject. my exhaust story goes:

-stock pipes w/ trd exhaust
(small gain was noticeable since my car was completely stock before)

-2.5' custom pipes from header to trd exhaust w/a hi flow cat
(gave me the best gains ever..low end mostly...killed my gas money, and sound was too loud from the trd so i had to put a regular resonator in there n that took away the fun. gains were still a lot more than before. the resonator prolly took away 5 hp from the gain i had)

-got hot shot header, and an exhaust leak, muffler shop made custom flangs w/ 2.25 inch piping from header to muffler AND replaced my stock resonator with a magnaflow resonator no more leaks, great trd sound. i felt low end go away but top end was much better.
(the reason i chose 2.25' is because the trd exhaust pipe is 2.25 inches and that just makes the whole exhaust system even...low end was taken away, but i get it all back in the higher rpm range)

so yea, watever muffler/header you got, if you choose to customize the mid pipes, makin it even is a good idea for better top end gains...

also..sumthin to think about...it's almost like a straw with a bigger top but small bottom...you put it in a cup of water n suck from the big part, but you still get little water flow, so what's the point in makin it bigger. hehe

I really wanted but it was like 600 for just
the piping i went w. stainless steel and mandrel
bend it came out to 240 w. everything
And im very staisfied!

yea man, that sweet ass, good gains, cheap price..

nice bends,and those guys opened up the pipe then made the weld.
should have been tig or mig welded though.
but other than that really nice!

Ive got 3.5 most of the way then to 3. inch and its LOUD, but its like a really deap loud.. sounds great, everyone wants it but they can't figure out what ive done
