im planning on pianting my car soon. something w\ candy on it. cant make up my mind though, need your guys help. what candy colors would look good on a celica? any body with pics would be great???? thnx!
now... there's a difference between candy apple red, and Kandy paint colors...
candy apple red is a standard color name... several different companies have a color called that, or something very similar... all of them being slightly different shades of red...
Kandy, however, is a specific kind of paint effect that is proprietary to the paint company House of Kolor (good sh!t BTW!!! some of the best you can buy!) It has a different lustre to it than regular auto paint does... more of an iridescence i think. It comes in all kinds of different colors... and you can mix and match the colors in different layers, because the paint is semi-transparent. The sweetest paint job that i've ever seen was on a 1934 ford 3 window coupe. It was first painted black... just a standard black. Then they put a silver metallic coat over it. Next came the Kandy coats... the first one was a medium violet color (all of the paint was House of Kolor, and the colors were all custom). Then they did a bright blue kandy coat over it. Then they finished it off with a silver iridescent clear coat, and three regular clear coats. The effect it gave was stunning to say the least... at some angles, the car looked dark purple, other angles it was bright blue, and in the sun, the silver metallic showed through all of it. All told, it had 17 GALLONS of paint on it. Most cars can be done with 1 or 2 total. It was a $25,000 paint job...
The possibilities are endless.. if you want something really awesome and completely custom, look into House of Kolor.
personally, i think that the candy apple red TRD widebody celica is one of the cleanest looking cars i've seen on this site! There are no gaudy decals, the spoiler is tasteful and matches the front splitter, it's not a double deck park bench or anything of the like. The color is AWESOME. It has one of the best molding jobs i've ever seen on fender flares. The only thing that I might change, would be to go an inch smaller on the rims, so you can actually see the tires and i'd put TYC red tail-lights on it
ooo chameleon paint jobs are delicious...ive seen a few Mustangs and some Impalas around here with them.
I wanna get my Celi candypainted like that.
"I ride big body Benz, Gucci shade lens/ Me an all my friends got the platinum diamond grin/ Everything Im in spin, on 20" Larenz/ Lay back on buckskin, wit my braids in the wind."
OMG DOES THAT RED CELICA HAVE SMALL RIMS OR WHAT?!?! jesus looks like he has plenty of room under those wheel wells. he have 22's on those or anyone have a clue? those things are tiny
I think someone mentioned who the owner of that car is but nice ehh?? Probably wouldn't mind.. since your cars would probably never cross paths anyways..
LNK "you only need something when you know it exists..then it becomes a want"
That Celica up at the top is one of the UGLIEST ricer jobs I've seen... but sadly, it's been done with probably $10k of mods.
Are you out of your mind?? The celica at the top if one of my favorite and many other peoples favorite celicas out there if i am not mistakin.
with out a doubt it's my most favorite Celi. out there, the only thing i don't like it the APR mirrors, wheels and tail lights other than that i wish mine looked just like it, in fact that's what i planning on (by my calculations it'll be good to go within the year) with a few diffrences to it, [/color]
