My friend eric 2000 Celica GT 5speed has problems going up the on ramp on to freeeways, He says that when he enterings the on ramp going steady on 2nd gear that he feels he car strugglings or losing power...anyone has any opinions on solving this pls reply ASAP.
something to put in mind, he has not had a tune up ever.
I have no idea what the problem might be, except that celica has a shit owner. I would give the celica to someone else and see if that does not fix things.
Tell him that either he can't drive too well, as far as shifting-he may not be used to it yet OR clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor-sounds crazy, but if it's losing power, that could be the culprit. Is his check engine light on?? If that doesn't work, he may need to take it to the shop to have it looked at (transmission or otherwise)
new plugs, tranny fliud flushed, fuel system serviced, shift linkage lubed, new clutch, ALIGNMENT!!!, MAF sensor cleaned, MAF sensor cleaned again, Valves adjusted...Tighten The batery terminals (My Grandfather's car used to stall going uphill, turned out his terminals were loose), and then sell it and buy a bicycle...j/k ...but yeah, tell him to wuit being a lazy ass, and take pride if he's gonna have a car worth having
I'd tend to agree with the mis-shift and lack of tuneup combined. Usually jerky car motions are a mis-shift problem. Get the tune-up before anything though and tell your friend to be nice to his car.
