Is there such a thing that I could use to splice into my brake light lines and other lines, and then hook it to a switch that when activated would prevent the brake lights from turning on?
Okay, so a switch hooked up to something, which is in turn spliced into power lines that would in turn disrupt an electrical pulse or signal at the flip of a switch.
Is there any way that this could be done?
Boredom oWnS me!

I want to be able to still use the brake lights and other lights such as the headlights, etc. but at the flip of a switch, somehow disrupt the electrical signal and in return, they wouldn't work.

I was just thinking because last night I was following someone, and I couldn't turn my lights off, and I thought it would be cool if all of the lights could turn on and off at the flip of a switch.

But how would I get the switch to disrupt the lights?

just diable your drls and you will have full control of your lights I know that, but not your brake lights. Besides, if I can find out how to install and wire this switch, I won't have to do that fix. I like the Auto-On lights, I'd forget otherwise.

my friend from hawaii had this on his pt cruiser...he had it done by a friend. the only way i can think of to do it is to
1. disable drl so you can have full control of headlights (that way the headlights/sidemarkers turn off)
2. find the cable that runs from the brake pedal to the brake lights and splice it...stick the switch in there and you can disable the brake lights totally
i dont think thats much help, because you prolly already know that much...but i figured i would say it anyway

this is pretty easy to do. The lights won't work without electricity, so, in this case find the wire that connects to the switch on the brake pedal. when the pedal is pressed its like opening a gate for the power to flow through to the lights. Cut that wire in half, then splice it with longer wire to a switch on the dash. Connect it to one terminal on the switch. then from the other terminal on the swith, run another wire to the other half of the pedal wire that you already cut. That way, then the switch is on, power is running through to the lights. If the switch is off, no power is going to the lights. It's like putting a gate in the middle of the wire. Hope this helps.

When the switch is "open", will there be a delay from the time I press the brake pedal to the time the lights come on?
In other words, will having that switch there cause any unreasonable delays?
Oh, and will any old cheap ass switch from like Autozone do?

do you have any idea about how electricity works in a car??? The hard part is not finding out you need a switch or what you need to switch, but finding the right wire to put on the switch.

Yeah, thanks. I've done electrical work in my car before, but never nothing with switches. Reverse glow gauges, LED conversions, LED's in AC panel, etc. Finding the right wire won't be a problem. Just needed to know how to go about doing this.
