Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior 2002, 2003 shift linkage differences?

TRD short shifter only good for 2000 to 2002 model Celica, asked Toyota mechanic why, he says factory change between 2002 and 2003 shift linkage. Anyone know anything about this?

What's a good short shifter for an 03 Celica GTS?

If you go to TWM (www.twmperformance.com [twmperformance.com]) they have one for 2000-2004 right hand drive celicas, not sure what's different in terms of shifter components. Maybe email them and ask.

Yeh, they changed the shift linkages because people were mis-shifting. The TRD shortshifter replaces the whole shift assembly...the only usable part for you would be the actual shift rod (and the new bushings?) Anyways, yeh, check out the TWM shifter, I have it for my GT and it's hella nice.
