Celica Forums General Discussion General Just witnessed a fatal crash

Happened about 12:30 this afternoon outside my shop.


This guy in a ford explorer came flyin down indian ave right by my shop weavin in and out of traffic goin about 100mph, when he sideswiped a toyota pickup in the oncoming lane; Bounced off a him he over corrected and slid broadside head on into a lexus going about 50mph in the oncoming lane, The explorer rolled right over the lexus and rolled about 5 times in the air before hitting the ground and continued to roll end over end about 50 feet in to the desert throwing busted off car parts and beer bottles all over the place. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt as his car rolled over him a few times while he was hangin out the window. He was still breathin and talkin (kinda) before the first emergency unit arrived, But he died after a few minutes of layin face down in the desert.

the key words here are "beer bottles". Sad. when will people learn?

The dood in the truck and the lexus driver both left in ambulances.



Here's the irony of this story;


The dood in the explorer bought some beer at the liquor store on the corner of Indian and san rapheal as he pulled out going south toward the 10 freeway on Indian ave he then ran a red tiburon off the road so the tiburon gave chase (at hi speed) the chase continued over the freeway for about 10 miles until the explorer turned around and then sped back down indian ave north bound with the red tib in chase; Then he hit the toyota truck and you know the rest, The explorer wound up in the desert on the corner of Indian and San Rapheal right across the street from the liquer store where it all began.



Hmmmmm.

Damn. that really sucks. Sometimes innocent drivers are just in the wrong spot. Gots to be careful.

Sad and scary for all involved, but I really feel for the people in the Lexus and the Toyota pickup, they were just minding there own business and now they are paying dearly.

its times like that that makes you wonder how safe you'd be in a convertible.. a roll bar does not pop up when some truck goes on top of you now does it??

I'm with venom on this one. That's exactly what he gets for being a dumbass.. Besides, only stupidity + driving + beer= baaad [email]shi@#$#..[/email] Sometimes beer isn't even needed. Sucks for the innocents.
I don't think it much matters if you are in a convertible or regular car if a truck is going to be rolling over you. It'll come right through the windshield no matter what. Stay alert out there and safe driving to all.
Oh and it should be illegal for idiots to be driving suvs or trucks.. Damn, I live in VA and wonder how 50% of the people out there got licenses in the first place.
