First, dont flame me for not having extensive engine knowlege. I have been talking to the guy that installed my subs and has been installing parts on my friends RSX scince he got it. He says instead of looking into a Turbocharger, that i should get a head from a junkyard, get it ?milled?(something like that) and get new camshafts. Has anyone done this or anything simailar. If the HP gains would be what he said this might be a worthwhile investment(>$4000?).

theres not much left you can do to the 1ZZ and 2ZZ they are pretty much at peak Performance.

Honda people love to run there engines at 140% spineyes

the 1zz head takes well to porting from what I've been told...and the new camshafts that catcams makes have some serious duration...but I doubt the two together would give you 200 hp...if you had the headwork done, got I/H/e, the cams, and a highflow cat...then you might come close to the 180 hp mark that the 2zz has...but your power would be lower in the RPM range...if you did all that and juiced it a little then I'm sure you could break the 200 hp mark on your GT

you'd also what to look into sometype of engine management at that point also to be able to tune the car and maximize the gains from each mod. wink you should be able to add quite a few extra ponies to it smile

what about a zex nitrous setup with mallory window switch to set at 4570 RPM and run a 75 shot. I heard that is pretty safe, or just run a 50 shot and get close to 180 hp. TO MY KNOWLEDGE

I'd say you'd get some decent gains. I'm not sure if you'd get 200+, buuuuut you'd def. notice a power increase. I'm not sure if i'd trade that for a Turbo though...
