160-horsepower 2.4-liter engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, 17-inch 6-spoke alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and anti-lock brakes. A dealer-installed supercharger will be available to boost the power output to 200 horsepower... What do you guys think... sry if repost but I stumbled aross this this mornin on msn and its crap how the scion has a DEALERSHIP supercharger angry angry before it even comes out and our celi's been around for years cry Not a bad looking car but im sure Toyota guna have a shiet load of extras for it too to make it look aggressive spineyes My only complaint is a 2.4 L that only makes 160HP confused lol

Scion gets all the attention because they're new and trying to sell. How much does this car go for?

scion gets all the attention because stupid kids can afford to buy a $16K car and blow money on mods.

It's hard to find people to buy a $25K 180 HP sports compact

very nice points guys
like.. not many ppl can afford a celica since it is so expensive for the power that its competitors gives...
not that the celica is not good
it is the most reliable and fuel efficient [my opinion]
since the scion main target is the young generation..
therefore toyota puts a lot of attention to mods... you know the young generation loves power wave

i don't know why...with the tc having a scion label it makes it look "cheap". i'd never consider bying it. scion= toyota lite...if it had a toyota/lexus label i'd buy it...lol. but of course if it carried a lexus label the price would jump 10K...lol

It's a nice car, but just my taste in car i wouldn't buy it, i mean scion made some ugly little metro cars that look like those box cars from that advertisment, but anyway, the car looks good, but yeah it should push more HP. Looks like a rip off of a celica accually wtf

I like it, but its not "sporty" looking like our Celicas. I'd still take the Celi over that anyday.

this is true since for 1-5K more you can get a car with 280hp, or has awd, or is FI stock, etc. etc(WRX,EVO,350Z)...

strange how the lotus elise has the 2zz engine and is priced at 40K...how come toyota never thought of putting lift in their already light weight mr-s'es??? confused

the celica has a factory s/c. you just have to cut a hole on the hood.

it's not too bad but it's kind too bulky in the front.

that car looks really nice in person...

and Scion is what toyotas tuner cars are going to be...at least where they want to aim them right now.

cheap, reliable, fully loaded...that's what people want.

"2.4 L that only makes 160HP"

this sounds like a very low compression engine that with FI could put down some real power. Probably 300whp possible? Wouldn't be surprised that with some body kits this car could look good. It will never be a celica though.

Ugg... I totally agree, if I hear another word about the Scion I may scream. But it is true they are cheap toyotas for younger people... Toyota has said as much in the press releases.
To me, the Celica will always be better, I just think it looks sportier.
OH, and since RevMonster mentioned it - the xB - if we chromed one out and cut two big slits in the roof could we put giant poptarts in it you think Kellogs would sponsor it? spineyes Just a thought...

Not really cool right now, bt i think the look would grow on me but i would never buy one. IMO i think the center console looks prety nice, like the aluminum look. The car looks heavy though and will need more than 160 bhp to be fast.

Exactly, the GTS is underpowered & overpriced.. I stillc an't believe how much I paid for the Celica and how lack of power and torque I have.
