Is there anyone out there that has a Turbo or supercharger on their GT. I have a 2001 GT and I have herd that there are Turbos and superchargers for the GT but I have had no luck finding anyone that knows where to get them. And which of the two gives you more bang for your buck. confused cry

i think trd has a hood that will accomodate the trd s/c...since the price of a s/c and Turbo are nearly the same...go for Turbo...you dont have to buy a new hood

SC works on low RPM's while Turbo starts to kick in at higher rpm's wich makes it more logical to get a SC to get better acceleration ( to me) and you'll keep the warranty.. but hell the S/C won't fit on a GTS anyway frown atleast not the TRD

first off, read and research about forced induction before you post about it.

a supercharger will yield a smooth powerband, but less top end power. however, a Turbo system can be customized to whatever your needs are. if you want quick acceleration down low and are not worried about top end power, get a smaller Turbo. for more top end power, go for larger Turbos. if you're looking for top end power while maintaining no lag, study compression maps and see which Turbocharger suits your application.

im doing a custom setup using a t3 super 60 Turbo, which isn't TOO big, but still spools up pretty fast(2k rpms). the only reason i would see to get the supercharger is for preference or if you are a TRD freak(at least if you have a GT), because for 3.5K you could have a Turbo which would yield lots of power(both tq and hp all over the powerband).

^^^ You must have no idea what your talkin about "UBER MONEY"... The total cost of my TRD S/C install was 2900 + the 250 to have a cowl made. I makes great power, the numbers w/ I/H/E come to 187 which sounds low and would be low for a NA car but having that power through out the power band on a FI car is much different!!! The car is all power to weight now! I can run and beat late and eary model 5.0's, camaros, stock WRX's and 2 SRT-4's so far + when I need warranty work done its covered... I wanna see you take yours in with you SF, DD, or C2 kit thumbsup

the Blitz S/C will give you similar gains to the TRD S/C & it fits underneath the stock hood, but it's twice as expensive as the TRD S/C

so you are telling me that in your car which produces 187 peak horsepower(i dont care how good the powerband is), on 19 inch wheels, you can beat srt-4s?? look at it like this, the blitz supercharger kept the gts in the 14s, and you expect your trd supercharger to bump your car into the 13s on a GT. show me some timeslips and a dyno, or a video of you beating a wrx and srt-4 and maybe i'll start to look into superchargers.

btw, for about 2500 i bought all the parts for my Turbo kit. im just waiting on my manifold to be done.

EDIT: i just saw that you lived in michigan? which part? i would really, really like to see this.

JBing, I post here and on NC too...please understand that SC and Turbo are 2 different setups for 2 different needs. Im going Turbo myself in about a week or two (SF kit for GTS, just in case) and Ive been in the tracks running and watching, so I hope my opinion is somewhat informative to you...
take care.
