S2000 Antenna Install
By Isaac DeCoursey @ EverythingCelica.com

The antenna install is quite easy for anyone to do. This is antenna can be bought at a local Honda dealership. It sells for approximately $24 US (~ $38.00 CDN). The HONDA part number is #39151-S2H-E01.
https://celicahobby.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/18593/Antenna-S2000-Antenna-Where-to-Buy.html

1) Remove the stock antenna by turning it counter clockwise until it comes off. If you can't unscrew it, use a 8mm wrench.

2) Carefully thread the new s2000 antenna into the stock Celica antenna base. Screw the antenna in as far as you can. (You could use "loc-tite" on the threads of the s2000 antenna to prevent theft)

To not damage the antenna, put a cloth over the antenna and screw it in with a set of pliers. This way you will.

When complete, this looks ten fold better then the stock "lighting rod" that came with the car.

just the mast: about $24 USD
entire assembly: about $150 USD

all you need is the visible mast.. not the entire assembly

I bought my S2000 antenna at the local honda dealership and the guy asked for $30.00 but i got it for $24.00 and it does look a whole lot better than the stock lightning rod mentioned in the original message.

do you have power antenna?
if not and you are in the USA - then use a pair of pliers (wrap cloth around it's teeth, to avoid scratching the antenna base) and it should come off without any further troubles.

i have the antenna that never goes down so i don't think its a power antenna. yea i'm in the usa and what kind of tool should i use? is there like a way to do it so it comes of easily.

when i was changing the front blinker lights, it was hard to take off the light bulb until i figured out that you had to push in the bulb and then twist it off.

does the antenna have something like that?

Just use an adjustable wrench and a little elbow grease grin

It comes off pretty easy, just turn counterclockwise wink

its about the same as talking on your cell phone with the antenna UP or with it DOWN... it all depends on whether you are close or really far from the radio transmitter

I'm still getting radio signals from station located in Mexico - and I'm 200+ miles north of Mexico... and I still get California's Santa Monica College radio half way to Las Vegas Nevada (over 150 miles away)

I have an '04 GTS and agree with you about the 'lightning rod' ... my question is, does this work for a power antenna?

Thanks - S.W.

I have a 2003 celica with a power antenna. I want to change it to an S2000 antenna. I wouldn't have to touch anything or disconnect anything, right? If I do what would I have to do.And if I don't have to do anything I would just take out the antenna and replace it, right? Need some help. Thanks thumbsup

this does NOT work with POWER ANTENNA unless you replace the ENTIRE BASE.

Which part should I try to screw off? I had an adjustable wrench (wasn't as good as it could be) and I tried latching it onto the black hard rubber part but it wouldn't budge.. the wrench kept on slipping and I think some of the rubber was scratching off. I tried to put the wrench to the silver colored part but it was too close to the body and I didn't want ot risk scratching the paint. The wrench won't even grab the silver piece above the rubber.. and I looked behidn the light and there wasn't much I could do with that area..

Perhaps get a better adjustable wrench and try again on the black part that's in the first pic?

Here's where you unscrew it. Mine was on there pretty good, had to lean into it a bit.

I just bought a stolen Honda S2000 Antenna, however that's not my problem, my problem is that I had bought an antenna from Canadian Tire a few months back and the connector part between the antenna and the car is not coming out of the socket of the car. Any ideas guys?

I bought one of those little short antennas on eBay, yes you can buy them cheap but they don't work. They just are not high enough to pick up really any signals especially if you are not right in a urban area.

I went to O'Reilly auto parts & found a nice antenna for about $20.00 that looks & works well.

The other option is a OEM power antenna that will cost a bit more.
