Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior What the heck is going on?

I'm not sure but I think my clutch may be going bad. My car has 90500 mi on it. Here's what's happening:

When I shift, the car will sometimes be sluggish to accelerate almost as if there is a delay.

Today (and one time about three weeks ago) I went to work just fine then... When I got back in my car I put it in reverse and the engine wouldn't rev while in gear. I switched to first...same thing. I put it in neutral and reved the engine and it worked fine. After that I put it back in gear and it worked.

A couple questions:

1. Is my clutch going bad?

2. If so, which clutch should I buy? I've been looking at the ACT clutch kit w/ street disk and heavy duty pressure plate.

that doesnt really sound like a clutch problem. when you clutch slips it feels like you lose power. you rpms will climb higher but you wont reall accelerate. as for your problem i dont know what to tell you.

Ohh...ok, that leaves me with no idea as to what it is.

Anyone else have any ideas

Maybe a loose throttle cable??
