Ok so yesterday a really loud ratteling sound came about in my 2001 celica GT. It sound like it is coming from the top of the dash above the clock. I tried smacking the hell out of it to make it stop but that did nothing. I took everything out of my car so it is defentily something inside the dah. The dealership wanted $380 to fix it and there is no way im paying that much. Has anyone had this problem? How can I fix it?

You can try taking the center console off and looking in about where the clock is to see if anything is loose that would be knocking around. I've pretty much given up trying to find the sources of the rattles and creaks in my car, there are just too many now frown

maybe some video with audio would help if after taking the center off you don't notice anything.

just go behind there and look for loose stuff.

Also, check the installs section for a TSB on rattles and how to fix them wave

they said $80 is the dianogistic charge and it would be 4-6 hour labor time to remove the dash and reinstall it. So they did that as an estimate. I ran out of my warranty 2 months ago. I am so pissed.
