that's why im thinking of getting new cars like rx-8 or evo8 i like these since the insurance is cheap. and they are fast. and these are the car you just leave it alone, you don't have to do anything to it. it already comes with nice seats, power, interior, rims, brake, wings and everything you need. unlike celica where you have to do a lot to make it stand out. i spend about 4g and i barely stand in the crowd. but i do love my celica. its close call.
the celica looks good but its a little slow i for its looks
becuase peepz race me all the time becuase they fhink its a real bad ass and they maby wannt to see how mutch they get owned or somfhing and its a little enbarrising standing side by side with another car that is a potesiall racer so i usally stop 1-2m behind his front window so he wannt look over to me.
so thats way i fhinking of selling the car and buy an more comfort car instead of a sport car.
and buy the way i have a gt and i never get owned it allways is close run (but then again they have like fammily cars and stuff so i fhink they wudd consider them self ass the winner )
If you wanted to race, then why did you buy a GT? Don't blame the car because you were too cheap to buy a GTS. On the other hand, the GTS is getting blown away by the competition too. I have a friend with a WRX sti and he is getting 340 HP out of it. How does the Celica stand a chance against something like that? My friend probably has 40 grand invested in his WRX, while I have only put in 24 grand into my stock Celica GTS. If I put another 16 grand into my GTS I could probably keep up with him. Money = speed!!
nah man i got a gts uh i dunno th celica does look awsome every one tells me they would rather have my car but man inside of me im like saying fuck its slow my mate has an rx8 and to say you would win with a celica or a wrx is just a load of crap those things are built to fly in fact hondas todays 2000 models and up whoop some ass but the compliments you get for a celica are non stop you probably would go in a crowd and people would be starring at you saying wow i want that car i think that i will keep the car for looks and get something like an r33 for speed
"You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f------ khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."
man im getting my ass handed to me lately im thinking of selling the car
So details man, do you have any mods? Intake or exhaust? Weight reductions? There is allot you can do.
I have an 03 GTS 6sp with a few modest mods and I've handed plenty of Hondas, VWs, and yes and even an RX8 their ass before, and I've been handed mine plenty of times by more powerful cars as well. Which is why I read allot and try to size up my opponent so I can pick my battles. Celica is far from the fastest thing on the road, but I wouldnt go as far as calling it slow.
As was stated above Speed = Money, how fast do you want to go. If drag racing is your main thing then sure, definitely think about upgrading to something like an Evo VIII or WRX STi.
did he just say the 2000+ hondas are made to fly, i hope you mean the s2000 cause thats the only one that flys... civic ex 127hp and 114lbs of tq to the fly heel civic si 160hp 132 tq to flywheel 0-60=7.9 1/4=a couple days ...you need some lower class friends rx-8's and stuff is what the big boyz ride in. this is another bitch that needs some slappn
Well, I wouldn't say my manual GTS is slow because with the power FC(900), AEM Intake(200), TRD exaust(500), and DC Header($300)not trial, too expensive... for around $2,000 my car can hang with the big boyz... and look pretty damn sexy to me!!!
goodness...what kind of cars are you racing? if ur racing STI's and EVO's of course the celica isnt gonna be able to hang...celicas are N/A...EVO's and STI's are Turboed...stick with other n/a cars like hondas...as a matter of fact invest in a powerFC..it has worked wonders for some of us here and we have a n/a celica running 13's here on the forums
1. Buy a CRX, B16A2, 3rd gen Drag Turbo kit, and a Hondata system. Remove everything but the motor/tranny, steering wheel, and driver seat. Go drag racing.
2. Buy an old muscle car, have it stroked and bored, get an insane cam, and a gigantic blower. Don't forget to 13" drag slicks.

HAHAHA, yea right, they dont have close to that much torque
was....5speed with i/h/e 15.41 @ 89.30mph 2.282 60'
Indeed the celica is for the circuit, what kind of cars are you racing? because if your reving a 71' Mach 1, guess what, you're gunna lose. Pick your fights if you want to race, engine classes exist for a reason, the celica isn't the fastest car on the road but it's a nice car...allow me to put it this way... Celica's look nice, for the quarter in their class they can hold their own, but they aren't made for that, they're made so that regardless of whether you win or lose you look damn good doing it.
i have no mods done to my car its jus standard vvtli gts maneul 6 speed even if i did all the mods what time would i be pulling and what would i be able to street rae i came came back from the dealers and sat in a rx8 man i was like this has some balls redlines out at 10,000 i dunno iv been waiting along time to see if they would make a Turbo thats acctully worth throwing in without blowing ur engine im not saying that its slow but man for the looks everyone is like dude im gonna race you and these dudes have v8s v6s even a 4 cylinder can take me on
You have any track experience?...I thought I was pretty good at racing my car before I went to the track...you don't really learn how to race the car till you spend a few days at the track learning to launch and shift proficiently. The celica is a lot different than most cars because of the necessity of landing lift above 6400. For this reason, it takes a lot more skill to drive one well or quickly.
Street racing is crap...fun, but doesn't help you learn anything since you don't get a timeslip.
I suggest that you go to the track to see whether it is the car that is slow...or your driving skills.
that is true stock vs stock, but that is what fixing it up is all about, for ex. the 305 whp celi on one of the other forums which equals the hp on the 5.0 stang.
