You say you have a GTS, but your profile says you have an SX. Don't those have like 90hp? Which is it?

That makes a huge difference. If its a GTS and stick, and you're racing cars in your class...you should not get OWNED.

I don't. grin

Dude, keep practicing,if you're losing to some civics and accords, that's really bad.

Keep the Celica, don't trade it in that quickly for an STi or Evo or RX-8. It's not worth it.

Well why did you buy a celi in the first place if you hate it so much.. if you want a freaking drag car get an American Muscle.. if you want a circuit car get a Nissan, Toyota or a Mazda.. a Celica rocks on circuits and so does the Skyline and 350Z.. even the RX8.. dragging may be fun but it has nothing to do with driver skills.. driving circuit or rally that has to do with driving skills and that's what makes it fun.. cause there you can win with a lower HP car (get's harder tough smile ).. for draging it's just a weight / hp matter..

Why are you racing v8's with a celica...theres no way in a drag. Stick to the class you bought the car in cause to me you sound like a noob. Learn your car, learn their car then do the math. By the way, post a time slip and see how your times are and we can tell you if your driving it right and if not we have some members that can tell you how to fix it. Then go to the track and kill some cars in your class thumbsup

not all V8's are fast. at the track i beat an early 90's (i think thats the year) IROC camarro V8 by over a car lengh, and i distroy'd a v8 camarro (older than the one i raced at the track) who is ownd by a guy at my school by like 4 car lengths from 0 to 90mph.

dragging does take driver skill, especially a gts, since you need to land in lift with your shifts.

I kno.. but when your in a drag driving against a skilled driver while your hp is way behind and weights is bout the same you are never gonna cut it.. even if you are an excelent driver.. (or your opponent must be a dumbass) on the circuit on the other hand that's different smile

Either way, try to stick to the circuits. The endless mounds of torque in a V8 will eventually end up putting them first. Celica will most likely destroy whatever is on the circuit. grin

the majority of celica owners bought their car for the looks. it's so unique and no other car can copy that look. in my opinion, we mod it up to make it our own.

if youre driving on the circuit against an equally skilled driver with a car that handles much better than yours then youre going to lose. its all the same. of course the celica handles a lot better than most cars out there, but both things take driver skill.

ok i usually dont bash..and i hate getting bashed..but..i read maybe halfway through tihs thread..and this guy doesnt know what he wants. He should do his hw..and realize wwhat he bought and realize what its capable of..(pro's and con's) he is selling his car because people in v8's and v6s wanan race him and he feels like a puss-e? well first of all the people wanting to race you are idiots..second of all not eveyrone into cars wants to race...i know a lot of people including mysself and many on this board..that love putting money and time into their cars..but wouldnt b caught dead racing in the street with random strangers..can we say small penis?..what are they trying to prove?..keep it on the tracks and stop trying to feel tuff(not talking to you, but the people that roll up and rev looking to feel like vin fucking deisel) like some other people said..if your a har core dragger...go buy a crx...or an american car or whatever..but besides dragging..the celica is a great car...if al you wanna do is drag..then go ahead and sell.

Wow, I haven't seen so many Honda flamers in my life tongue.

Answer me this: When's the last time a Celica (a Turbo'd one) took a Ferrari in a straight-away?

Now I do know one Acura(Honda) Integra Type-R owner who burned a Ferrari in a straight at an HPDE. (this guy's a professional driver, boosted of course).

Saying that, stock for stock, the Celica GTS and the Integra Type-R would be in the same class. (I'm talking DC2 chassis, not DC5)

I don't know many Acura/Honda Integra Type-R owners that rice their cars out. Actually, the ones I know disapprove of it.

Find me a ricey Type-R, and we'll call it even. But you're right. There ARE a lot of Civic owners that rice their rides out.

You shouldn't hold this against Honda. They've developed the most reliable motors on the market, averaging 200,000 miles on em. (unmodified, of course) They've also developed motors that have the most horsepower/torque output per liter. (220hp at the crank on a 2.0L 4-banger, roughly 110hp per liter of displacement)
