Well, I decided just to get a quote for a 2000 Celica GTS since I wanna get a GTS (used b/c cheaper) instead of a 2004 GT. Well from progressive they wanna charge me 700.09 a month eek for insurance which comes out to be 8,400 in car insurance for an entire year... Considering I'm in school I wont be able to afford it frown My parents called for a 04 GT and its only around 300ish so I'm prolly gonna get a new GT. Just wanted to share w/ you

You're prolly asking for too much coverage. How much driving experience do you have?

DONT GET PROGRESSIVE!!!

ill try to explain this as best i can.

we have been with progressive for well over 7 years. Not once have i ever recieved any discounts for anything!. So when my car got broken into, they told me that i only have 1000$ in coverage with a 500$ deduct. So that left me 500$ for my 4500$ stereo. Well they dont tell you that you need to get a extra policy for aftermarket audio. Well one good thing is that if you get it, they will cover you up to 5000$ with a 500$ deduct. So that being said, i went over to the car insurance place and talked to the guys over there. THey called up progressive and tried to get my the 5000$ in coverage. WELL they told him that since i am part of the 'old' system and now they have changed a lot of things (ie. used to be 12 months now its 6 month policys) that i cannot just add on to my policy. I would have to renew a whole new policy and that i would be subject to all new percentage rates and everything. I was already paying 4000$ or so a year, which was 380 somthing a month for my celi and my dad jeeps. EITHER way, i was a customer for 6 years and now you are telling me that because i have been with you for this long and i have been loyal to progressive that i now have to get a new policy and possibly increase my already "FUCK ME IN THE ASS" insurance rate. no no thats not how its going to happen.

so i went to all state and on the phone they already gave me a good student discount and they said next year on whatever date i will get a good driver discount, and with those two combined it droped my 6 month policy about 300$.

so from me you, dont get progressive, go shop around. . . it worth it. . . o, and now with all state i am paying somewhat less but i have more coverage with my stereo and all. . . .

You get a cheaper quote than what they say online. I was looking at a helluva lot of $$$ on insurance. I actually went and talked face to face...and I saved a TON of cash. I was able to get a 2000 GTS instead of a GT. 18/male (and do the family car idea posted above...)

I'm gonna get my mom to put me as the main driver of the extra car we have which is a 1989 Cavalier Z-24. Guessing the insurance would be much cheaper since its older even though its considered a sports car since it is 2 door and has a V6-173hp 2.8L but hopefully it will be a lot cheaper and since insurance covers all cars i can still drive the hoe and celica

Drivers ed is so easy if you practice outside of class... in my car there was two people (including my self) and well the other kid wasnt a slacker, but he never practiced and on the day of the final he made this crazy turn and jumped a curb (in a down town area) and almost too out a garbage can... needless to say he failed big time... this other girl same period was crying because she got a B on the behind the wheel test (what a bitch)!!! i got an A btw, and in the class room. Easiest class ever!

Well, I am a smart kid tongue The class was pretty easy I guess the only hard part was that we had a test every 2 days on a chapter. we have 1 hour and 30 minutes in each class period so we had enough time to finish a chapter every day. But, if you didn't finish your work you would finish it after the test. well no one ever studied for them or anything. Also, when we were driving we would get a point marked off our grade with everything we did wrong we started with 500 points which is an A and then go down from there. At the end with the driving points I had like 480 or close to that. but I got my grade up by doing 30 point extra credit. So its pretty good b/c I get the drivers ED discount grin but, it must not be as easy at my school or everyone is retarded rofl

This goes back quite a ways but ... back in the day... I was driving myself to Driver's Ed at 15 years old!

As for insurance, I've had Allstate for nearly 20 years now. That might make a difference towards what I pay (Full coverage for 00 Celi GTS, 97 Explorer, and 68 Dodge D-100 P/U = $2300 per yr)

However I currently have 2 teen daughters driving and a son about to come of age! cry Rates are due to rise thru the roof VERY soon!!

To make matters worse, in Delaware the insurance companies (all of them) automatically place kids under the most expensive auto to insure! eek

For some folks, "Gaseous Cranial Explosions" are just a way of life!!
