when does you guys VVTL-i kick in??? 5400 or so? well mine lately has kicked in around 6100 and now i have a check engine light on...any guesses of what this may be???

I believe lift kicks in at ~6100. As for the CEL, have you installed any aftermarket parts lately?

near 5 months ago just AEM CAI but thats it

lift used to kick in around 5400-5500 with mine too thats why this is weird to me and not to long ago like two weeks ago, if i took it beyond 2500 it seemed to bog down and not want to move at all...and then all of a sudden it acted like it was normal again except for this CEL and very late lift

I don't think I've ever had lift kick in that early, but it could very well do so on later models w/ the lower rev limit. Does lift feel just as strong as it has before? How many miles does your car have on it, and what year? Sounds like it might be time to replace lift bolts. As for the low end bogging and the CEL, thats definitely from the CAI, you are most likely burning lean. There is a mod somewhere on this board that fixes it, but I think you have to cut the CAI pipe and replace with the smaller stock Intake tube, right by the throttle body.

I've never had lift before 6000K. never had a CEL either even with Injen CAI and exhaust
