Custom Funnel Air IntakeBy John Unnever Step 1. Cut a hole in the plastic undershield. ![[Linked Image]](https://celicahobby.com/gal3/albums/inst/funnelair1.jpg) Step 2. Place the funnel through the hole and pull it out at a slight angle. Then zip tie the bottom of it to the plastic shield. ![[Linked Image]](https://celicahobby.com/gal3/albums/inst/funnelair2.jpg) Step 3. Pull the hose up towards the intake filter area, and zip tie it to the frame. ![[Linked Image]](https://celicahobby.com/gal3/albums/inst/funnelair3.jpg) Step 4. Ends up looking something like this. whats the point of funnel air? With a short ram intake like this one, the filter would simply sucking up the warm/hot air from the engine bay. This is bad for performance (actually rendering the modification useless as a power gain), and slightly bad for the engine too. That is where the cold air feed comes into place, as engines run best off cold air. When moving the feed supply's a nice amount of fresh air directly to the filter, optimizing the ram filter's benefits in performance. Works a treat on a cold night

F.Y.I. if you do this you will need to clean your filter sooner. the road debris tends to be sucked up through your filter. i did this application and found tons of small debris in the notches of my filter. i only had it in for a couple of weeks.
