I'm trying to decide if these are the same twist lock bulbs that attach to the circuit board behind the A/C controls. I know the lights aren't soldered to the board, but also not positive that these are suitable replacements. As bulbs go, the best I can the ones on the site are commonly referred to as a #74.
It says to consult the owner's manual, but I don't know where mine is, and I really doubt it says in there. I think these are the right bulbs, but I'm just looking for a second opinion. Is there anyone who is familiar with the a/c circuit board or anyone who has done this mod that could venture a guess?
In the past people have mentioned that you could replace the stock green bulb covers with a color of choice to achieve the same effect. I would do this, but I haven't been able to find them and this would still be really cheap.
FYI - this site also has colored dome/trunk light replacement bulbs (sz. 175 for dome light , sz. 22 for trunk light) if anyone's in to doing that.
the covers that you are lookin for that change the color of the bulbs are sold by RJAutoworks and they work for the cigaratte lighter and AC controls, come in red, blue, and orange for $8 shipped sets of 3. take a look:
Thanks for the help. I went ahead and ordered the bulbs, not the covers. I bought red to match my kenwood head unit. Will def. post pics after I get them in!
The bulbs from lightlens.com are NOT the right size, so anyone considering ordering from them is out of luck. Guess, I'll just get the bulb covers afterall.
It wasn't a total loss, though. I took the bulbs out of the bases they come in and used one in my cig. lighter and the other under the PRND21 bye the (auto) shifter. Now i'm just waiting to get the covers for the a/c bulbs...
ohhhh they were with that kind of base, they weren't LEDs wrapped around the base. See the base is th same design so I figured those were LEDS. My bad.
