so yeah working on the interior painting, and sanding shits the bed! I had to strip off the shitty paint job and then sand down even more to smoooth it out, EXHAUSTING. Right now all the pieces are drying after being rubbed with mineral spirits, anyone have any tips about sanding, because before wiping the pieces down with mineral spirits they felt very smooth and now they feel more "coarse". Is this normal?
ok I had to strip the shitty paint job, so I used 80 grit, then to smooth that used 240, then to smooth it more 400 then to finish is off 800. Washed it and tacked it each time. It felt really smooth, but then I wiped it down with mineral spirits and it seems to be coarse again. I had adhession problems the first time because I didn't remove the old paint, so since the old paint wasn't bonded, the new nice paint wasn't either. Sooooo I'm redoing it all.
same her i was painting my engine plastics and the valve cover and the large passenger cover came out about 3 shades lighter than the smaller pieces(ie fuse cover and ecu cover) i dunno what happend i think when i painted the smaller pieces i pointed the spray can closer so know i started sanding the big pieces again with 400 grit and doing them over but like what you said its a biatch to do since carbon_blue_gt is the expert any suggestions about how to sand it if iam just doing a repaint this is such hard work
