I have a 2000 celica GT. I was screwing around with a Honda S2000. The day before this, when i would come to a complete stop i was getting a rattling noise for a few seconds then it would stop, i didn't think anything of it. I thought it was just an exhaust rattle. So the next day i'm cruising around and i jump on it coming around the corner shift to second and stomp on it again the car starts rattling bad, and i could tell it was under the hood. I pull over check the oil and i'm way low. Now when it hits around 3-5,000 rpm and also when i shift it rattles/knocks. Does anyone know what i broke or anyone have this happen. what do i need to replace? bearings/rods/crank/cams? what? I REALLY APPRICIATE ANY HELP.

are valves an expensive part? Rough guess what would the parts cost? How difficult would it be to install, would i have to remove motor? I was thinking it was just bearings. Does anyone know if the oil pan can be removed and get to the rods from under the car without ripping out the engine.

If you aren't under warranty, then you are easily looking at over $1000. Fix it ASAP, or else you WILL mess it up even more, and then you will have to buy a whole new engine.

does anyone know of a GT motor for sale? Let me know how to contact any possible people who might have one. could i put in a GTS motor without getting into a huge thing like swapping all kinds of crazy shit. would i have to do anything different than if i were to just put a GT motor back in it? I know the diff is i think just the bore size and the stroke. but i just don't understand how the power diff would work with the GTS having one more gear than the GT. can anyone help with this situation. ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY Co. that MAKE Performance CAMS FOR THE NEW CELICAS (GT)?

GTS engine is larger than the GT, so the engine mounts gotta be modified. And the transmissions wont mate w/each other, another thing you gotta fab.
Just go to the bank & get a $1k loan & get your car fixed. And let this be a lesson learned...keep it on the track.

You guys are all jumping to conclusions waaay too fast, figure out where your oil went, does your car smoke out the exhaust? where is the rattling comming from? having messed up valves will not cause you to lose oil and it will be more of a ticking sounds(louder when the engine is cold and progressively get quiter). Be more specific about knocking, is it predetination or does it more of a clunk from a rod or something like that? However a rebuild will definitely not cost you a grand, you can be sure of that, I'm not sure of the oil system in your engine, but many engines can starve for oil under hard cornering because all of the oil in the oil pan shifts to the side opposite the oil pickup
