Its an Xb, with some mods, aka strut brace, Intake, higher end stero (it was amazing), spoiler (that does spoil it) and a clean body kit... plus these rims, that are a dealer incentive he said... and now i want it...

try going uphill in that... with your friend and some groceries or gym equiptment... or even your school books

i know that after a few seconds, it will drop from 65 to 50 to just about 30mph... and thats with your foot flooring it

Ive been there, done that... total additional weight was about 230lbs (only me and two suit cases for vacation in Las Vegas)

it was so fuckin embarrassing being passed by trailer homes... towing mini-suvs or be passed also by huge double big-rigs

put another $3k down on your new vehicle and get something more than an 2450 lbs box with about 108 hp engine that's lacking much torque

in my honest opinion, its not worth mid $14K BASE PRICE (minus taxes & all other fees ... about $2k more, making it roughly $18k out the door)

I don't know muhc about that xB but i'm not going to knock it. You seem to know a lot about it. You woulnd't buy it if you didnt like it. I know everyone is intitled to their own opinions. But these opinions are kinda rough lol.

I'm not going to be hard on you at all. When my Celi acts up, I end up driving an Element.

here its a toyota, not a minivan, and not a truck, 4 doors, plenty of room, crappy engine but i dont need it... i want a express type truck, from toyota, dont want to pay much, and still want styling, and good looks even if you guys hate it, plus i like the small van look... during the test drive we were able to do a full circle on a side street, beat that in any other van...

the element i dont like bc of the plastics mixed with metal, not my look... i dont know if we are going to get rid of the celica, so hold your breath, we might just drop our camry... which isnt a bad deal, bc our camry is the lowest end model, and the xb we are looking at is the highest, and its much cheaper then the camry... but do keep posting opionion, i want to get all the information from those of you who might see them more then i do, and if you have any reports any thing you can tell me id appreciate it

oO look a box! Those remind me of the commercials where a bunch of cardboard boxes are driving around.

actually it might be a good sleeper. get rid of the tiny 1.5 liter motor and see if the toyota caldina motor will fit.

and if someone can fit a V8 into a 5th gen celica then the 1mzfe v6 motor should fit or the 3s as mentioned above. it might be a tight fit but it sure as hell will surprise the competition.

why the hell would i go from the celica to a tc? come on!!!

it ran pretty good, it lagged some in lower rpms, but this dealer model was brand new so what can you expect, it had an aem Intake and a strut brace, and it seemed lowered, but the sales guy did say... it rode like a mix of camry and celica... little body roll... and the brakes were good... tough and new i guess... i cant wait to drive an older xB just to feel the worn in feel

i wouldn't mind rockin one..for daily driving (to keep me out of trouble )

It kind of looks like a lunch box I used to have when I was a kid.

The black one looks okay, but when you put a Celica in the picture, you know who is going to get more attention.

For the price range, I think the Celica has the best exterior/body/shape.

I think, you guys will never know how good a Celica looks until you actually give up your car and drive a car WITHIN the same price bracket.

Well I am sure the girls will be falling over themselves to ride in your XB...And I am sure you will get even more comments on the great styling of the XB than your Celica too. I still don't understand the box look or why anyone would want to drive the thing. They are butt ugly and if anyone tells you differently they are lying. However its your money and you can spend it on anything you want. I certainly wouldn't tell anyone about it though...

the scion would be a nice starter car or just a city drivin car ... but high speed free way

tc is much better and with the sc it'll be faster than the celi for much less.

as for the xb (or even xa) they're this generation's tercel (i had one). too slow for it's own good. once owners of the 2 scions realize looks can only go so far they'll (hopefully) graduate to at least the tc and even better, 7th gen celis and (dare i say) 8th gen celis.

toyota really needs to cater to true sports enthusiasts and not just their classics.

If you guys just think about it... Just a bit... You might notice that the xB is a great price for the space it gives... How often do you see an SUV thing give good MPG and is under 15k NEW? It gets better gas milage then the Celica! Not to mention it weighs just as much as the Celica... And if you don't like the style of the xB... That's why they have the xA... A more 'sleek' style to go around... At pretty much the same specs/prices...

Toyota would never release something they can't sell/make money on... Expect scion to be the next civics/camrys ;p

I dont think he is saying "XB is better than Celica" like you all act. Well no crap, i would pick a Celica over a box anyday, but for the price and standard features, they are nice. Something for you Scion haters to chew on, a Supercharged TC would eat a GTS. HEHE
