Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior AEM Big Brake Kit

Does anyone currently have the AEM Big Brake Kit? Is it a noticeable difference from the stock? I love the look of the rotors especially with some nice rims...but are they worth it?

don't have a kit yet myself (going full brembo gran turismo eventually) but it's safe to assume the difference between stock and aem should actually be great. the aem is a much larger rotor so logic points to more surface area for the calipers (albeit stock) to grasp. i would even say that any brake upgrade should be better.

my brother is going to get then 4 his car and i say the r good ASS brakes looks good and they work good i see then on a lot of cars in auto shows so i say if you want them get them

Shit, Id rather have the Rotora Big Rotor Brake Kit than AEM's. But thats just my opinion.

Id love to have the AEM kit. Anything but stock will do just fine

i think that the aem big brake upgrade is pretty nice, but don't they also make the upgrades with new calipers...that would be tight to have too..
but i also like the rotora brake upgrade... i wish i had those, even more than brembo because of its rarity on the celicas of course i also love brembo though

Where can you buy the Rotora Big Brake kit? How much more expensive/less expensive is it?

um, you can do a search on the internet (of course) but the brembo is about $2400 and the rotora is about $1500. yes, a grand less but the brembo has been proven to be the best in stopping power. i still may get the rotora since it also comes with upgraded calipers and is cheaper.

JaimeJames do you know if you also have to get a bigger wheel atleast 17" if you go with the Brembo gran Turismo just like the Aem big brakes???

the aem brakes are really nice, they have done test on them in magazines and stuff, they definitly help with the breaking. brembo is hands down the best brake company for a car. every race car that i have seen, CART, F1, touring, they all have brembo brakes. ferrari actually uses brembo on all of their cars coming out of the factory and even their F1 car that won last years world championship. so brembo is probably the best brake application on the market, but they cost a lot of money.

yes, you would need to have at least 17" rims for clearance since the size of the aem or brembo rotors are quite large.
