Its on like 80% of the time, but my fuel door is always shut, does anyone else have this problem?

it's not a light. its just reflective when light, such as sun, hits it. it's suppose to tell you which side your fuel door is.

^^yah... I realized that with mine after the 1st week.. it annoyed me then I blocked the sun from hitting it and I ta da.. gone haha.

Oh, wow the people at toyota must think were stupid, we need reminding every day what side its on?

jeeze should you guys feel dumb for thinking it was a light, or wait maybe i should feel dumb for never noticing it? haha now i want to see it, to bad its dark out thurr.

its not toyota most cars have that indicator

That's an odd thing to say... do you really wish the sun would go away?

And yeah, friends always think I'm low on gas when the sun hits it. hahah

Yeah my light always seems to come on right before I end up running out of gas
J/K but yeah it always caught my eye, then I started noticing that I only saw it in the morning on my way to school, then I figured out that it was just the sun.

i was thinking about making a post about this earlier today. thank god somebody finally got it out there... it was bugging the shit out of me. i remember the first few weeks i had my car i was tinkering with the freaking fuel door... now i can relax.

Me too, i was like opening and shutting it over and over trying to get the thing to go off.

Yeah had to read the manual for that on too...ha ha

like someone else said, a high majority of all cars tell what side the fuel tank is on. I am glad its there, sometimes I switch cars and have to gas up and forget for a split second what side the tank is on, either that or you can lean forward and check in your side mirrors.

when i gas up, i usually have it so the gask tank is away from the gas pump. that way when i top off the gas/reach the maximum payment all the excess gas flows through the hose and into the tank.

huh? So you put the hose over your car?
