i heard a rumour recently that there's a european 6 speed transmission that fits the 1zz-fe... is there any truth to this, and where can i get it and how much?
UM... no... i already have too much work into this car, it's gonna be able to handle more boost than a gts without rebuilding internals, and... the GT badge on the back gives it some sleeper points

If I'm not mistaking here in Holland the GT and GTS both have 6speed gearbox.. only the 2000 and maybe 2001 GT's had 5 speed if I'm correct.. the new ones 2003 and 2004 have 6 speed
why not stick to your 5 speed tranny, since your running boost you need longer gears. having a 6 speed would not be best for a Turbo car since you will have to shift by the time you hit full boost, there for losing some boost in the next gear.

not for the eruo spec 6speed, the gears are acutally nearly identical with the addition of a 6th because they changed the final drive to 4.4 i believe.

Good to know. I'm trying to turn my car into a true beast... by the time i'm done (in a couple of years) it will be pushing around 18psi of boost (with all the proper internals), i'd like to have the european 6 speed... no one will expect the kind of trouncing that my car will be able to give them... especially since it will still be wearing a GT badge
I'm gonna have to price out the tranny swap... it may well be my next major goal before i install my Turbo
for me to switch my auto to a gt 5 speed (not the GTS engine and tranny), I was looking at 5 grand. And thats the best out of 4 shops. The other three said they wouldnt even take the job!
rickclark (might be on NC.*rg) has put a 2zz in his GT with the 5spd transmission. If the 5spd bolts up ot the 2zz you would think the 6sp would bolt up to the 1zz. Also the part #for the axles are the same. If you stay NA thats the way to go.
