just got in from work. turned the car off. took the key out of the ignition. my cd player is still playing music, i turn it off and it still is lit up. the clock is also lit up, as well as the readouts in the dash, and my amp light in the back. this is going to run my battery down. there's no way to turn it all off besides disconnecting the battery. how did this happen?

did you just install an aftermarket radio into your car? if you or someone did, i think that they jus wired it wrong and the system is basically wired to the constant power wire. Only my opinion, try to check with someone to verify it.

You blew a fuse. I had this problem for a while as well. The yellow wire on your wiring harness shuts off your radio when the car is off. Follow that wire and find the fuse that it runs off of. When that fuse is blown, you have to shut off the radio manually. The reason why your amp is on is because the radio is on. Check it out.
My car might be slow, but at least it looks nice!

Either that, or someone tapped into the wrong 12v source for your stereo.

The reason why your amp is on is because the radio is on. Check it out. but after i turned off the deck and even detached the face of the cd player the amp was still on. after about 3 hours i went down there last night right before i went to bed and all the stuff had turned off. the car started back up too.

ok i went to subway, turned the car off and it didn't do it. from there i went to the bank... same results. then i get home. i turn the car off, get out of the car, start walking up the steps of the garage... and the subs start hitting, the radar detector beeps 3x all of the stuff comes back on. it has happened in my garage 3x but never anyhere else.
i don't think it has anything to do with the cd player because that has been in there for a quite a while now and this just started happening last night.
my alarm hasn't worked right since i got the car. the only time it goes off is about half the time you start the car. it hasn't been doing that lately.

Thats no good. Celicas shouldn't keep the stereo on when the car is off. Whoever installed your stuff did a bad job and you should get it fixed asap.

i have both an amp and an alarm installed. the amp has been in for a long time and has been fine. i know everything is wired right.
the car had an alarm when i got it, and it has never worked right from the start. like i said before, it goes off half the time when you start the car.

I think there's a bad relay in your system. I guess the relay contacts stay closed even while you switch off the power to this relay.
