"This 8th generation Toyota Celica is scheduled to be launched in late 2005 (with a 80% launch possibility). This Celica-Code name "197L" will be powered by the all new 2.4L, 250ps (247hp) 2AZ-GE engine. This engine remains to be normally aspirated and slated to rival the Honda "Type R" family."
"You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f------ khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."
yes it does...i think its a load of bs...iv heard so many different things...iv seen rumor that there might not be a 2005 Celica that Scion TC was going to replace the celica...:( http://www.toyotacelicaonline.com/rumors.htm scroll down to the bottom...it says something about the same thing...blah blah
Why should Toyota come out with the 8th gen after not supporting the current Celica? By support I mean things like marketing and advertising and stuff that companies do when they want to sell a product. Toyota isn't doing it with the current Celica so why even bother coming out with another generation if you don't want to sell the product? I am clueless as to Toyota mgmt thinking on this.
Your so...right...could it be? The TC was rumored to be the celica replacement...this picture was rumored to be the replacement to the 7th gen celicas...It might just be a concept of the TC...with bogus numbers.
maybe...they said...Scion TC as "T oyota C elica" heh...They will proly come out with another Celica just the same 7th Gen Style...unlike the new Eclipse and Mustang..total changes there...
ok...i read in a magazine...i cant remember the name of it( speed i think), its a new one and i left it at work. anyways..they had a pic of a yellow concept and said it was going to be the next celica. its based on a platform thats already in japan. it will come with the 2.4L engine with 230hp. they also said that in japan there is a allwheel drive Turbo version, so its very possible toyota may do another alltrack. i will get the mag tomorrow and post the article.

Ditto what VSGTS said...i don't think toyota is focused on the celica. It's more likely they will launch a new supra but not a celica. THAT would be tooooo much wishing for something good. But i do have a question for VSGTS, can a 3sgte engine swap work well with a 2000 gt? how much would it cost to get my hands on one...?

the 3sgte engine does fit in the celica's engine bay...
but i'm not sure how much, i don't really know stuff about that engine swap.
3sgte does fit... the engine is not the problem with the swap... its mating a tranny that can work with the 3s and the celica thats the hard part...
