I am a High School student and I was recently at a graduation party where I had a little to drink not enough to not drive, but the cops had broken up the party and I was leaving. One of the police officers followed me out and I left without knowing it. Not a half mile down the road he stopped me for a third-brake light out. The one above my trunk. I was only a half block to my house. I was brought to the police station and written up for a DUI. This has not only been a disgrace to myself, but to my family. If I could I would take it back, but now I have to face the consequences. I'll prob get my license taking away till Im 18 the officer said. Theres not a second that goes by these pass two days that I haven't thought about it. I'm such a disgrace. Don't feel pitty for my mistakes. Just think twice before you do anything stupid as I didn't think at all. Now, I have a DUI on my record for life.
Damn bro I feel real bad for you. Respect for taking responsibility for ur actions though, it sucks to have to live with that for the rest of your life. Don't be too hard on yourself though, you didn't kill anybody. But i can still understand why you feel the way you do, its alright man keep your head up, and just try not to do it again.
Side Note: no disrespect to the ppl that do, but this is the reason why i have never sipped alcohol in my life or smoked anything as well.
I dunno man youll be ok. my friend has a DUI and is ok, he got his lisence suspended til age 25 but he gets a work release lisence or what not ( so he can drive to work )
Dont beat yourself down bro youll be ok keep your head up we all fuck up once in a while.
Insurance will go up, in canada you lose your liscence for a year. You never killed anyone, & are remorseful for your actions which gets more respect from me than somone saying "f***ing cops pulled me over & gave me a f***ing DUI"
Good luck, find a lawyer, maybe there's something that can be done.
Yeah I know what you mean, but its hard for me to deal with it when yours parents wont even look at you. I've always been the good son, I dont usually get into a lot of trouble, then this happens and my parents fuckin hate me and I'll have to deal with it somehow. I'm think Im just scared of what people will think of me now. I just feel like a loser.
How old is your friend that wont get his license back till he's 25?
yeah, that sucks man, i know what you're saying about the worst part is the disgrace from your family and what not. good news is, if you're under 18 in most states, your permanent record isn't established yet, so once you are over 18 companies can't search your records before 18 (or so i hear, i am by no means an expert in this field)
Hey, it takes more guts to come out and say that you did something wrong. So admitting into it, I give your much more respect that if you would go out and post some dumb sh*t like "F*ck this, Cops are ____". So just take it easy and learn from your mistakes.
I am also a non drinker, smoker, and etc. All of my friends actually do all of these stuff, but I have never find a need for me to do these things. I have as much fun as they are without having to be drunk or lifted. But these are choices that we all make anyways.

Can you get me more information on this anyone please?
dont be too hard on urself man. this is a lesson and you learned from it. if this didnt happen, something worst could have happened in the future. like later on in ur life ull be drinkin and driving cz once you got away with it. this brings you closer to who you really are and closer to ur family. just try to talk to them and tell them that you regret it and it just happens, parents-wise they should accept stuffs like this cz ur young and make mistakes. as for ur record and all that, ur license will probably be taken away for a while. my suggestion is that you talk to a lawyer or something and find out what happens. i hope you have ur license for a while with a clean record. you never know wut you can do. instead of suspension, maybe you can convince them that you made a big mistake doing so and never do it again and that way you get less of a punishment. expect ur insurance to double, but dont lose hope. if nothing works out, you can always get a lawyer to clean ur record
Wow, I'm sorry man, that really blows. Hope everything will work out better. I don't drink and drive for a simple reason. No matter how much I have, whether it be a few sips, my face turns bright red. I'm stone sober, but it says that I've had something to drink. DUI is stupid and very very dangerous.
Enzo Ferrari " You may be a Ferrari owner; but, you may not necessarly be a Ferrari Driver."
damnnnnnn this sucks, ur man enought to face it and learn from it, things will work out just pray and yeah it is true if you are under 18 ur record wont show
My friend who is also 18 just had a DUI this past Feb. He got his Lic. taken away for a year. Also I think his Ins. went up about 2K per year. aside from that he is still driving his truck, however he is not drinking and driving anymore.
third brake light is always an excuse cops use. My friend got pulled over nad his light wasnt even out. Im sorry i know how you feel. The worst feeling ive ever had was when my mom caught me drunk over at a friends. I was always the good child of our family.Insurance is gonna go up and you may lose you license. And it is true that when you turn 18 you police record is sealed off but your insurance record will not be. It will remain high for a few years.
So basically my insurance is going to go up, I'll lose my license 'till I'm 18, but will probably be able to get a work license to drive to work and back. And my record wont show after Im 18.
thats what will happen. shouldnt have happened in the first place, but your lucky you are under 18. learn your lesson the first time. im not gonna lie and say ive never done it, cause god knows its been way too many times, but i learned my lesson when my best friend got one, so i learned it the easy way.
