he also gave me a hand me down hooptie, he gave me my brothers 1990 beretta indy,i would drive it but it is currently not street legel due to exhaust and illegal tint
You know what I did when my folks jacked MY fully PAID car? I got them to give me one of their car, going to sell that crap and then purchase a nicer Celica.
So if you have a job and since you are getting something else. Sell that hand me down car. Tell them to give you however much cash that they were going to give you on your RX7 and then purchase a used Celica and work off the remainings.

turns out that worked, as long as i make the $325 payment everymonth he will pay the insurence and i can keep it

refinance the loan, get it stretched out for like 5 more years and your payments will drop...
I figured there had to be something unsaid in the first post. Parents love to give stuff to their children, unfortunately finances get in the way, and something has to give. I am glad y'all manage to work things out. I don't know what your insurance is costing you. But its probably as much as the car note. Getting a job will make you a little more appreciative of your parents, too... Good luck, PS where do 16 yr olds get jobs anyway?
i would say get the jetta. for the simple reason that rx7 especially the mid 90s i think 3rd gen are a bitch to maintain and insurance will eat you up. with the jetta youll fall under the "4door" catagory for insurance which will be cheap and those things are sleepers. modded right they will be able to take out the 7th gen celica
u want to part out? ill trade you my stock silver "kit" for your trd kit... the dealership or who ever buys it wont know the differnce... same with the wheels

yes, rx-7s were notorious for maintenance problems and insurance hikes but the fact that i had a 91 gti 16 valve (with some suspension and minor engine tweaks) and my brother has a 98 gti vr6 (with fully adj race suspension, i/e/chip/ignition) gave me 1st hand knowledge about all the pros and cons of vdubs. a lot less reliability, v6 has mucho torque but hp is less than the celi. even with a lot of mods they aren't known for 1/4 mile. in a way, they have the handling area in common with the celi. when done right they take turns in auto-x like they're on rails. and, once again, torque helps them in the twisties. still, they ARE the original pocket rockets
btw, good deal showing the rents you are taking some responsibility and paying for your ride

idk about everyone else but in my city theres a place called the commons. It's like 200-300 oulet stores. They're cheaper than buying them in regular stores. If we didnt have them idk where kids would get jobs. Thats where all the college kids have jobs. Or else Ice cream shops. I work with my dad ($10 dollars an hour off the books. its plumbing so its BORING). n i work up at gymnastics. Its a gym i work with the pre-team boys. Gettingt hem ready to compete. $8 an hour. not too bad.
