I guess you've tried the obvious things like getting the tires balanced and the alignment checked?

alignment. if you just got the rims and tiresnew they should've balenced them at installation. unless you bought them used from somewhere/body then get them balanced too

make sure all the wheels and tires are balanced correctly, doubling checking and get your suspension check out in case any problems after 8 months of sportlines.

Well I changed my entire suspension so my steering wheel starts shaking very slighty past 80mph but that's just because of the added feedback from the road and also the road ruts from cars always traveling in the same spots. grin

shaking?, its balancing, if your car tends to go to the right or left during free hand, its your alignment thumbsup

i no exactly what it is. your tires are 215/40/17 but thats too big for the celica. when your tire is too big, it throws the suspension and steering off. causing your steering wheel to shake at high speeds. i have 215/25/17 on my car and they work great, im pretty sure the size i have on my car is the biggest you can go without messing anything up. thumbsup

215/40/17 and 215/25/17 are the same size tires confused

The only difference is your sidewall width is much smaller than his. You got 25, he had 40. Other than that, the tires are the SAME width for the tread. I don't think the sidewall width has much to do with shaking like he has, but it does play a role in handling.

its not the size of your tires. i have 225x40x18 and i dont have any problems. but i noticed on my stock wheels, my steering wheel would shake once i hit 70+. i only noticed it after i just turned my car on for about a mile or so. after that, everything seemed fine.
