how should i go about getting my celica to shine like a show car?

what steps during cleaning should i take and what products are good to use?

i have never really washed my car on my own and i usually just get it cleaned at those automatic places where you pay about 20 dollars and they do a decent job

i want my car to shine, what do i do?

i usually wash the car with turtle wax car was...then i use this really good wax called "luquid lustre"...you can really ever find it in stores

i got it at a car show

how do i use turtle wax??

i have it but have no idea how to apply it and if several coats are needed

and the directions on it dont help me
i mean are their better ways then the directions?

go wash it, get it all cleaned up, dry it...


then if you reallllyyyyy want that shine, i suggest you go about ordering a product called Zaino...best stuff i have ever seen. after so many coats of that stuff and if you follow the directions the car should come out great looking. and more coats of wax the better. and i believe 50 coats of zaino is like a brand new clear coat

For me... wash the car with some good soap (I think mine is Armoural). Dry it off... then apply a coat of McGuires Tech Wax, take it off with a diaper (can buy them at auto stores). Next, apply Mother's pure carnauba wax. You'll know it's the right stuff if it's basically a brick of hard wax in the can. No abrasives at all. Do the whole car, then go back with a fresh diaper and buff it off. When you're done it'll really shine.

If your car has a lot of dirt deposits that don't come out with a good wash... use Clay Bar (sold @ most auto stores) before the tech wax.

^^ an hour/hour 1/2 no way! When I wash/polish/wax my car it takes atleast 3-4 hours. I always let my car sit for a little while to make sure it is completely dry. Then I polish my car which takes about an hour, and then waxing takes about another hour/hour 1/2 because I tend to take breaks.

o i wash and dry...then spray the tire shine...then wax...and drive away

maybe 2 hours depending on my mood for it

damn...what is a good polish? and what is good to dry?

how do i know the direction of the car?

and how do i go about applying it? like to i add to a cloth then rub on the car or put it on the car and then rub?

i too have heard the Zaino is the best and that is what i will be buying

It removes any deposits that washing/waxing wouldn't get off... makes your car nice and clean before a good wax job

What is a really good and easy wax to use? Something that will take maybe an hour to 2 hours to do (start to finish). And which wax brands should I avoid?

i bought meguirers level 2 wax because i couldnt find zaino
took an hour with two people working
and you can really tell a difference

my hood was brown now it (and my whole car) looks bran spankin new..people bug out when i tell them it's a 2000 last ..put the time in.. do the 3 step...

After washing and drying, let car sit in a shady spot to cool (especially if it a dark color.) It's better if you can find a spot that's gonna stay shady the whole time ur waxin'. This helps prevent the wax from setting up before you have a chance to even finish coating a small section. Take ur time and cover everything with several coats.

To really get a car to shine it needs to be buff'd and then wax'd, esp if its an everyday driver. After time, even w/ waxing the paint starts to get a hase to it and buffing it is the only way to remove it

hehe rid the oem clear coat and get a better one, one without all the orange peel, then clay bar and wax it will shine like no other

I usually just wash and dry (weekly). Once a month i will wash, dry, and wax with meguir's gold class. When im really feeling up to it Wash, dry, claybar, wash, wax with meguires 3 step, wash, wax with meguirs gold class, clean the windows with stoners, armorall everything, even armorall the engine plastics. Of course you still gotta clean the wheels and tires and spray em down for that wet look. Keep it looking clean.
