Ok question, now that the 7th gen Celica has been around for awhile, I'm finding decent engines listed at junk yards accross the nation ready to buy for as little as 1,500 bucks. Just hypothetically what would it take to convert an Auto GTS to a Manual GTS partwise? Engine? Transmission? Internal parts? I think it would be interesting to put instructions together for people if they REALLY want to open a money pit like doing that would be. Considering I know very little about engines and mechanical stuff, this one is for you gear heads out there!

edit: freaky i seem to have lost my rating again somehow O.o

hmm, you'll not only need the obvious parts such as the transmission, wiring, possibly the ECU and more but you'll need a manual transmission engine mount too. There is a difference between the auto and manual mounts. smile

Also, CAI for our cars are shaped differently due to the 2 transmissions. The automatic transmission is slightly larger than the manual transmission. You might need a new intake, you might not.

There were a few guys on nc.org that have done this btw.
