So I dropped off the Celi today at 9am to get my stereo installed. They said maybe around 12:30 or 1:00 it'd be ready. I come back at 12:30 and they aren't done, so I leave and come back an hour later. They have my car sitting out front but the guy at the counter refuses to check me out, because he says it's not done. I'm like... well WTF is it doing out front then? Whatever, I finally get my keys, pay and go.
Turn on the stereo. "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" from all the speakers. I know this all too well. I floor my car in N... the sound goes to a "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!". Did the same thing with my Miata when I personally wired my stereo... hooked into a power line that was too close to the alternator. So I go back inside and tell them. They give me some BS about "must be a loose wire". In the process of yelling at them, I find out they rewired the stereo through my stock amp... they didn't bypass it like I told them to. I leave my car for an hour and they promise to bypass the amp and fix the whining noise.
I come back an hour later. NOTHING is different. The guy admits they didn't bypass the amp, because he "didn't think there was any reason to". All they did was install a "noise filter"... didn't even find a new power source for the deck.
I had to just leave, since I had to be somewhere in an hour. I told them I'm coming back tomorrow. On the way out of the lot, I realized the stereo not only has the whining sound... it cuts in and out as it plays. I'm SOOOOOOO pissed right now about the whole situation. I buy damn near $1000 of stereo stuff from them, and they can't even get the install right over the course of two attempts and nearly 10 hours.
NEVER... EVER shop at Super Autobac's out here. I had to vent... because this whole thing is SO stupid. Today has truly blown.

yeah man fuck shops for shit like that. Just DIY. Most of the people, at least down here, don't know what the fuck they're doing anyways. Print out my guide and tell em to "do this"

dude... return all your shit and get your money back...
fuck them... take your business elsewhere.
I'm gonna give them one try tomorrow to 1) bypass the amp and 2) find a new power source. I'm going to stand there and WATCH the mofo's. If that doesn't work, I'm not leaving there until I return everything for a full refund.

Not to be an ass but dude this is why i say people should DIY. GTS_leo knows his way around audio stuff and i'm no stranger to wiring just contact me and we might be able to help.

Thanks man... I might take you up on that. I half know my way around car audio too... I'm gonna sleep on what to do.

another reason why it is good to have hookups at tweeter and this other stereo place (forgot the name)... you get discounted goods and if you come to the shop after hours and work with the friend that works there you get free install.
see if you can get your money back from the labor since it wasn't done right. if you're going to complain you shoudl take them directly to the manager, the man who makes all the decisions. keep the parts
dude, you shoulda just posted you needed hlep man. if you want bring it to my house and we can make like a lil meet out of it if you want lol. I used to do that for a living back in the day
Okay... I'm going back there this afternoon and telling them to rip everything out and return it. Then I'm gonna get the same stuff... cheaper... online. You really used to do it for a living lucky? How tough would the stereo + preouts for the rear amp + front components + rear coaxials be to install?

at least you don't go to dumbass circuit city, they messed up my dad's corvette audio setup a bunch of times. He said screw them and did it himself, it's better to have the subs shaking your hair lol
stereo installation is easy, it's just the wiring and adjusting your system thats a bitch. I did my own work on my system and it took me one night to 4am.
man those audio stores think people are just plain stupid when it come to stereos like we know nothing about them since we are going to them. they piss me off too man .
man im deciding if i should take my car to get it wired because i have a gts and just the thought if pre wiring it makes me i am just affraid imma fuck up something. And btw when wiring the pre amp for your aftermarket deck? What are you doing to the stock amp ? YOu just bypassing it for your new aftermarket deck or what? yes i am nubby when it comes to car audio
I already had an amp and subs in the trunk, wired to the stock stereo via high/low converter. So... I need to run new preouts to that amp when I get the new deck installed. I want to bypass the factory amp entirely, since it is less powerful (160w) than my new deck (240w). I also am replacing both my front and rear speakers... and I have a funny feeling that the place didn't install the crossovers for my components correctly.

why dont you pull your door panel off and check to see if the crossovers are installed. Me and my dad just installed some front speakers in my celi. w00t we even custom cut the stock tweeter hole and fit the new ones it looks sweet and professional haha!
Check my www.sounddomain.com/id/mach_y [sounddomain.com] page for ideas on your install / how-to tutorials. If you have any questions, ask here or hit me up on AIM at machyy1. Be glad to help.
yep, teach yourself how to do it yourself, it will always come in handy later, you can figure out your own problems without having to run it into the shop all the time, plus get good enough and you can run a little spare time business for friends for some extra cash. thats what i do.
Okay... the guy behind the counter there was actually friendly AND helpful ::gasp:: ... so I left my car there for him to look at, rather than just throwing in the towel with them. They have ONE LAST FREAKING CHANCE only because it's a different installer today. It's sitting there right now. Everyone pray.

damn you patient...if they didnt do it right the first time i wouldv said fuck you and taken my buisness somewhere else
me too... and i would have held out for a better deal... like if they said they didnt want to take it apart or what not, id say "just waive the install fee, and throw in some speakers, and ill leave and never come back"
That sucks. Some shop is bad, they dont care about customers. I went to a shop tp install my alarm, and they disconnect my AM/PM wires, so I need to come back another day to fix it. By the way, how much it cost you to install them?

hope it turns out well tomorrow - unfortunately I have a bad feeling about this one...
